It requires a systems-level thinker who can translate customer requirements into complete, buildable data center designs-spanning compute, networking, storage, power, cooling, and physical layout.\r\nTHE PERSON\r\nYou are comfortable operating as a trusted technical advisor to customers, owning the end-to-end technical narrative from early solutioning through Basis of Design development, while aligning AMD internal teams, partners, and OEMs around a coherent architecture.\r\nSuccess in this role requires strong judgment, cross-domain fluency, and the ability to turn complex constraints into clear, defensible designs.\r\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\r\n\r\nLead customer engagements to define AI GPU cluster architecture and develop complete Basis of Design (BoD) documents.\r\nArchitect end-to-end data center solutions including GPU platforms, high-speed networking, storage, power distribution, cooling, and floor layout.\r\nTranslate AI workload requirements (training, inference, mixed workloads) into scalable, reliable infrastructure designs optimized for AMD platforms.\r\nPartner with customers, OEMs/ODMs, and AMD internal teams to align on technical decisions and tradeoffs.\r\nPerform architecture reviews, gap analysis, and risk assessments to ensure designs are deployable and operationally sound.\r\nProvide guidance on best practices for power redundancy, cooling strategies, network topology, and cluster scalability.\r\nSupport pre-sales, solution reviews, and executive-level technical discussions as needed.\r\n\r\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience designing large-scale GPU or HPC clusters for AI workloads.\r\n\r\n\r\nUnderstanding of data center architecture including:\r\n\r\nHigh-speed Ethernet networking\r\nDistributed and parallel storage systems\r\nPower distribution, redundancy, and capacity planning\r\nAir and liquid cooling solutions\r\n\r\nPhysical layout and rack-level design\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience producing or reviewing Basis of Design, reference architectures, or similar engineering documentation.\r\n\r\nCustomer-facing technical experience with the ability to clearly communicate complex tradeoffs.\r\nStrong systems mindset with the ability to connect compute, network, storage, and facilities constraints.\r\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\r\nHigh ownership, attention to detail, and ability to operate independently across ambiguous problem spaces.\r\n\r\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS\r\nBachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline preferred.\r\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\r\nLI-EV1\r\nLI-HYBRID\r\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\r\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
