We will give you a chance to work with some of the most talented people in the graphics industry.\n\nAechelon Technology is seeking a Staff Engineer, Frontend Applications to help design and build easy-to-use, high-performance frontend applications that support our simulation platforms and related tooling. This role will contribute technical expertise to modern user-facing applications, including web-based and desktop experiences, with responsibility for driving implementation decisions, collaborating with UI/UX and cross-functional teams, and helping to elevate the quality of frontend engineering across the team. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in frontend application development, solid product and systems thinking, and experience building responsive, scalable applications that support complex, real-time workflows.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nContribute to technical decisions and participate in architectural discussions for frontend applications and related systems\nDevelop and maintain responsive, high-performance frontend applications using modern frameworks and technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Electron\nPartner with UI/UX designers and other stakeholders to deliver seamless, intuitive user experiences\nDesign and implement real-time, bidirectional communication features to support live data streaming and updates\nOptimize applications for maximum speed, security, scalability, and maintainability\nHelp define and promote engineering best practices for frontend architecture, testing, observability, and performance\nProvide technical guidance and support to other engineers on the team\nCollaborate with backend and platform engineers to ensure efficient integration between frontend applications and underlying services\nMinimum Qualifications\n8+ years of software development experience, including significant experience building complex frontend applications\nBS or MS degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field involving coding, or equivalent practical experience\nStrong expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend application development\nExperience building performant, interactive web or desktop applications\nExperience with real-time communication patterns, including WebSockets or similar technologies\nSolid understanding of RESTful APIs and experience integrating frontend applications with backend services\nDemonstrated ability to contribute to technical initiatives and influence implementation decisions\nAbility to work with export controlled technology\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience building desktop applications with Electron\nUnderstanding of UI/UX design principles and frontend optimization techniques\nStrong programming skills with C and C++ languages\nExperience developing applications for simulation, visualization, or other performance-sensitive technical environments\nExperience mentoring engineers and contributing to a team's technical growth\nSalary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 USD per year.\nThe pay scale for this role is between $150,000 - $200,000. The range is specific to CALIFORNIA and may not be applicable to other locations. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.\nWe offer a very attractive compensation package commensurate with experience including competitive base salary, company performance-based profit sharing, and 401k, medical, dental, vision and life insurance plans.
