GENERATOR SHOP TECHNICIAN
Summary: This is a full-time Generator Shop Technician position based out of the Carencro, LA Business unit. Duties and Responsibilities:Perform skilled tasks including all levels of maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a wide variety of natural gas engines and generatorsTroubleshoot and diagnose all levels of generator system failures and optimize generator equipment performanceAssist technicians with pulling out containerized generator packages for overhauls and or routine repairs.Load bank generators as neededCleaning parts and shop as neededComply with all company and customer policies and proceduresComplete appropriate paperwork as directedContinually hone and develop skills in line with technological advances in the industryAble to work in a team environment as a contributing team member and capable of working alone when requiredPresent a professional imageQualifications:Proficient in generator and engine maintenanceTroubleshooting skills to general electronic and mechanical control problemsBe able to operate all types of diagnostic tools and have a full set of hand tools as defined by company standardsAble to make sound recommendations to customers on generator and engine maintenanceGood customer-relation skillsAttend training classes and/or seminars as required.Should have general computer skills and be capable of utilizing the computer as an appropriate diagnostic toolMust have basic hand tools and roll around toolbox.Education and/or Experience:High School Diploma or GEDFormal vocational training preferredThree to five years of engine and generator maintenance experienceElectrical experienceLoad Bank ExperienceMechanical training program available 6 months- 1 year of being a technician.Language Skills:Ability to read, write and speak fluently in EnglishCertificates and Licenses:Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as well as maintain an acceptable driving recordPhysical Demands:Often required to lift heavy objectsSpend long periods of time standingWork reasonable lengths of time in hot and cold environmentsMust frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
