Job readiness programming and conservation projects that enhances and beautifies our surroundings builds self-efficacy and confidence amongst participants. SGVCC provides support and helps youth develop values, character, motivation, and life skills necessary to succeed in life. Support includes job training, case management, and educational opportunities for youth to earn a high school diploma.\nSUMMARY OF POSITION:\nThe program coordinator will play a vital role in program coordination and overall support of the SGVCC\nLa Puente Youth Workforce Development Program. The program is a 14–16-month program for youth in the city of La Puente to receive paid job-training and project implementation that will beautify and support city goals. The coordinator will assume primary responsibility for ensuring program events/ activities are in line with overall goals, objectives, deliverables, ensuring participants’ reach their milestones. The coordinator will maintain and prepare applicable program/project schedules, meeting materials, training materials, and agendas; which may include tracking deadlines, deliverables, communication with management and/or stakeholders. He/ she will interface regularly with other departments, staff, city staff, and any other program partners.\nEssential Functions:\nSupervise daily operations, including direct services, case management, administration, and record keeping.\nSupervise, assign, instruct, and assist program training goals.\nPrepares monthly program reports and statistics.\nAssist case management and program services.\nAssist in identifying barriers and develop strategies to accomplish goals.\nResolves problems encountered by program and staff.\nPrepares budgets and program narratives.\nRepresents program at various agency and community meetings.\nSAN GABRIEL VALLEY\nCONSERVATION CORPS\n10900 Mulhall Street\nEl Monte, CA. 91731\nPhone (626) 655-0015 www.sgvcorps.org\nClarifies and implements policies for staff and program participants.\nEvaluates and monitors training program sessions.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Experience:\nOne to three years of related experience.\nCommunicate effectively in written and oral form.\nExperience with workforce development preferred.\nMust have experience working with youth.\nAbility to take initiative and work under pressure.\nExperience with developing vocational skills.\nStrong organizational and case management skills.\nWillingness to be a team-player.\nMust have transportation, valid driver’s license with clean driving record and current car insurance.\nHighly self-motivated and adaptable, with ability to effectively prioritize, manage, and execute multiple projects in a fast-paced collaborative environment, while meeting tight deadlines and multi-tasking.\nHave proven experience in cross functional leadership and with the ability to motivate other team members.\nAbility to connect with others and forge strong relationships.\nCreative Skills preferred.\nCommitted to the mission of serving at risk youth and helping them to experience the environment.\nAbility to organize and maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines.\nEnglish and Spanish speaking is preferred.\nPlease note that this job announcement is not designed to cover a comprehensive list of activities, duties and/or responsibilities that may be required of the employee for this job.
