Specifically nursing assistants are necessary for therehabilitation nurse "to achieve the goal of assisting individuals in therestoration and maintenance of maximal physical, psychosocial, and spiritualhealth" (ARN, 1994 p1.)Nursing Assistantsfunction under the direct supervision of licensed personnel and provides basicpatient care services to patients, and assists with self-care activities. His/her major responsibilities are to providebasic rehab care needs and reinforce the efforts of other rehabilitationdisciplines in the 24-hour activities planned for the patient.Responsible forperforming secretarial, clerical and receptionist duties and responsibilitiesboth supportive to and consistent with established administrative, clinical andpersonnel policies, procedures, and protocols. Responsible for requisitioningand maintaining appropriate supplies and equipment, scheduling patientappointments, and communicating requested services and consultations toappropriate personnel. #W2POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:1. High school diploma or equivalent2. Nurses Aid, Medical Assistant, Multi Skilled Techniciantraining certificate, evidence of enrollment in Nursing School or other AlliedHealth Care Profession or a minimum 4 weeks documented on the job training3. CPR certification
