We are Dover Precision Components, #LifeAtDPC\nSummary:\nThe Material Handler is responsible for the moving partially finished, or finished products physically and making inventory move transactions in the Syteline ERP system under given direction and guidelines. This position is responsible for issuing material to the jobs, conducting cycle counting, ensuring inventory location accuracy, overall inventory accuracy and other assigned transactional duties. In addition, this position may be asked to assist with shipping, packing, labeling, in process material operations and performing the following duties:\n\nResponsibilities:\nParticipate in all plant safety initiatives, report potentially unsafe conditions, and abide by corporate and local policies.\nActively engage in lean manufacturing principles and techniques. This includes, but is not limited to, actively participating in kaizen events, 5S activities, and continuously seeking improvement in the work area.\nReport problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, inventory, and cycle count to the supervisor.\nUnloading, moving and storing materials\nUtilizing manual lifts, reach trucks and transfer equipment (requires applicable safety and operational training)\nStoring and stacking materials according to company standards\nIdentifying and verifying parts\n\nMinimum required qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nRequired to operate a forklift; must have a valid state license.\nMust be able to lift up to 30 pounds throughout the day.\n\nThe ideal candidate possesses the following experience, skills, and abilities:\nPreferred 2+ years of warehouse experience\nAbility to use machines and software to track inventory\nStrong organizational and time management skills are critical.\nFollow written and spoken instructions.\nListens and gets clarification.\nAnalyze and solve problems\nDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Monitors own work to ensure quality.\nMental/Visual/Physical Effort:\nWalks, stands, reaches, and bends frequently.\nHave strength and stamina to be on your feet and lift packages, up to 30 pounds, throughout the day\nPossesses good hand/eye coordination.\n\nPhysical Hazards:\nNormal operations require eye protection and safety footwear.\nAdditional safety equipment may be required.\n\nMaterial Hazards:\nIllness or injury from materials present in normal working environment is unlikely.\n\nWorking Conditions:\nExposure to normal machine shop environment with periodic noise.\nLimited disagreeable factors present.\n\nNote: This Job Description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
