This role will focus on architecting, deploying, and optimizing OCI resources required for EBS, ensuring the solution meets stringent government security, availability, and performance requirements. A key responsibility will be designing and implementing cross-region disaster recovery (DR) for EBS within OCI to ensure continuity of operations (COOP) and mission resilience.\n\nWhat you'll do\nE-Business Suite Cloud Migration\nLead the end-to-end migration of a mission-critical EBS environment from on-premises to OCI, including planning, architecture, deployment, data migration, and cutover support.\nAssess current on-prem environments and design target OCI architectures that align with performance, availability, security, and government compliance requirements.\nArchitect and configure OCI components required for EBS: Compute, Block Storage, Object Storage, VCN, Load Balancing, File Storage, Database services, and identity/security services.\nCoordinate with DBA, application, and network teams to ensure successful migration of application tiers, database tiers, and custom EBS integrations.\nCross-Region Disaster Recovery for E-Business Suite\nDesign, build, and validate a cross-region DR architecture for EBS using OCI services such as block volume replication, database Data Guard, object storage replication, and load balancer failover strategies.\nImplement automated replication, failover, and recovery procedures for both the EBS application tier and database tier.\nDevelop COOP/DR runbooks, testing plans, and failover/failback procedures tailored to mission-critical government workloads.\nLead periodic DR tests and ATO-aligned validation exercises to ensure readiness for region-wide outages.\nCloud Architecture, Security & Compliance\nEnsure all EBS migration and DR activities adhere to federal standards including FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800-53 security controls.\nConfigure IAM policies, compartments, network security groups, WAF, encryption (KMS), and audit logging to meet government governance requirements.\nSupport security assessments, SSP updates, ATO processes, and POA&M resolution activities for cloud-hosted EBS systems.\nOperational Support & Optimization\nMonitor OCI infrastructure supporting EBS workloads for performance, cost, and reliability; implement tuning and scaling strategies as needed.\nDevelop and implement patching strategies for EBS components hosted in OCI, including coordination across environments (DEV/TEST/STAGE/PROD).\nTroubleshoot EBS-related cloud issues including performance bottlenecks, networking, replication issues, or cross-region failover behavior.\nAutomation & Infrastructure as Code\nCreate and maintain Terraform or OCI Resource Manager IaC templates for provisioning EBS-related OCI infrastructure.\nAutomate environment builds, DR replication processes, and deployment pipelines to support EBS lifecycle operations.\nIntegrate compliance, configuration, and security automation into cloud operations wherever possible.\nCollaboration & Government Mission Support\nWork closely with program managers, DBAs, application SMEs, security teams, and network engineers to ensure the migration and DR solutions meet mission-critical requirements.\nPrepare architecture diagrams, migration plans, DR test results, and documentation required for government technical review boards and audits.\nProvide engineering expertise and technical leadership throughout the migration lifecycle and ongoing multi-region operations.\n\nQualifications\nUS Citizen\n3–7+ years of experience in cloud engineering with at least 2 years focused on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.\nExperience working in government IT environments or highly regulated sectors.\nStrong understanding of NIST security controls, zero-trust principles, and cloud governance.\nProficiency with Terraform and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).\nExperience with cloud networking concepts including VCNs, DRGs, VPN, FastConnect, and firewalls.\nFamiliarity with Oracle databases and government-hosted Oracle workloads (e.g., Exadata Cloud Service).\nSecret clearance.
