Students then rotate through enrichment classes, homework support, outdoor games, STEAM activities, and social engagement opportunities.\n\nPosition Summary\n\nThe Full Play Instructor (TFP) is responsible for providing high-quality after-school programs for youth and their families in a structured and supportive environment. Working with a team, the TFP Instructor facilitates enrichment, recreation, educational opportunities, and fun experiences for students, including arts and crafts, outdoor games, and homework support.\n\nThis position functions in a variable-hour capacity, providing coverage as needed across PlayCV school sites. The role offers flexibility and is ideal for individuals who are passionate about youth development and can adapt quickly to changing environments and team dynamics.\n\nEssential Job Functions\n\nProgram & Student Experience\n\nFacilitate and support enrichment, recreational, and educational experiences that are engaging, age-appropriate, and fun for students.\nImplement supplemental enrichment activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor games, enrichment classes, art projects, and homework support.\nGuide student behavior and support social and academic development in alignment with PlayCV expectations and values.\nDevelop, refine, and assist with enrichment activities such as classes, demonstrations, challenges, and interactive experiences to enhance overall program quality.\n\nSafety & Supervision\n\nEnsure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.\nMaintain appropriate student-to-instructor ratios in accordance with PlayCV policies and program guidelines.\nMonitor and supervise students to ensure compliance with PlayCV rules and to prevent accidents or unsafe behavior.\nMaintain and follow student schedules to ensure proper supervision and smooth program flow.\nEnsure the safe, proper use and cleanliness of PlayCV and site facilities and equipment.\nBe knowledgeable of and enforce all emergency procedures, safety protocols, and program rules.\nReport, document, and communicate incidents, including accidents or rule violations, to the Team Captain as required.\n\nTeamwork & Collaboration\n\nWork collaboratively with Team Captains, Team Coaches, and fellow staff to support program goals and student success.\nCommunicate effectively with team members regarding student behavior, safety concerns, and program needs.\nFollow direction and guidance from leadership to ensure consistent program delivery and supervision standards.\n\nOperations & Administrative Responsibilities\n\nAssist with daily program operations as assigned by the Team Captain or Team Coach.\nSupport set-up, clean-up, and organization of program spaces and materials.\nPerform additional duties as assigned to support the overall operation and success of the program.\n\nCommunity Agreements\n\nAll PlayCV team members are expected to model and uphold our Community Agreements:\n\nKeep our students at the center of our decisions and actions\nBe open to feedback and operate with a growth mindset\nBe kind and respectful\nOwn our attitude\nSupport each other and hold each other accountable\nRespect everyone’s privacy\n\nThese agreements guide daily interactions, decision-making, and overall site culture.\n\nQualifications & Experience\n\nHave a high school diploma or equivalent GED\nAre creative, professional, and serious about providing meaningful after-school opportunities for youth.\nDedicated to nurturing the development of the whole child.\nHave strong classroom management or group management skills.\nDemonstrate initiative while keeping the needs of the students in mind.\nAre committed to constantly engaging with students throughout the day.\nHave elementary and/or middle school aged classroom experience or have After School and/or Summer Program experience.\nAre fair, responsible, dependable, and consistent.\nHave patience, compassion, and kindness.\nAre flexible, proactive, punctual, and able to make a commitment to work throughout the entire school year.\nBilingual applicants are a huge plus!\n\nCandidate Profile\n\nThe ideal candidate is an energetic, responsible, and student-focused team member who is committed to providing a safe, engaging, and positive experience for children.
