This role monitors system conditions, responds to alarms and abnormal operating conditions, and initiates corrective actions to maintain system reliability, optimize performance, and support safe restoration activities.The ideal candidate will possess strong operational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. This position supports continuous system operations through rotating day and night shifts.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and operate electrical distribution and transmission systems in accordance with established safety and operational guidelines.Identify abnormal operating conditions and initiate corrective actions to maintain system stability and reliability.Coordinate and support service restoration procedures in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.Monitor electrical loads and communicate with field personnel regarding load abnormalities and operational concerns.Dispatch field teams in response to alarms, outages, and equipment issues to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.Maintain accurate daily operational logs and records of system events, outages, switching activities, and communications.Assist with preparation and coordination of work clearances on distribution lines and substation equipment to ensure employee safety.Monitor SCADA systems and related operational technologies to support system reliability and situational awareness.Participate in training activities and maintain knowledge of operational procedures, safety standards, and system requirements.Communicate effectively with internal teams, field operations, contractors, and other stakeholders during routine and emergency operations.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to system operations, safety, and reliability.SkillsPower distribution system operationsTransmission system monitoringService restoration coordinationSCADA systems and monitoringAlarm management and responseElectrical load monitoringOperational troubleshootingIncident and outage responseStrong verbal and written communicationMulti-tasking and prioritizationTeam collaboration and stakeholder communicationMicrosoft Office proficiencyOperational logging and documentationQualificationsHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.Associate degree or higher in an electrical or related technical field preferred.Minimum of 4 years of experience in power distribution operations or related electrical operations role required.Experience with electrical distribution operations and/or field operations preferred.Experience with SCADA systems preferred; AspenTech Monarch SCADA experience is a plus.Knowledge of electrical system operations, switching procedures, and safety protocols.Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in high-pressure operational environments.Distribution Lineman Training (DLT), Craft Advancement Progression Skills (CAPS), or similar certifications preferred.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Position Details:Pay Rate: Level II - $65/hr and Level III - $75/hrSchedule: Will start as a 7/7, will move to 14/14 schedule.Location: Spring, TX#LI-SU1
