We are looking for a senior, hands-on engineer who can connect AWS infrastructure, secure networking, platform services, CI/CD, and application deployment into one reliable delivery system.\n\nYou will design and provision AWS environments, automate configuration, build delivery pipelines, deploy and configure EIS Suite applications, operate Kubernetes workloads, and troubleshoot issues across the stack. You will work closely with developers, QA engineers, architects, project managers, and customers. This role offers genuine end-to-end ownership, influence over technical standards, and the opportunity to mentor other engineers. EIS One Suite is delivered as a SaaS product, so your decisions directly influence the availability, security, scalability, performance, observability, release experience, and cloud efficiency that customers depend on.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOwn solutions end to end - from AWS infrastructure and network design through CI/CD, application configuration, deployment, observability, and production support.\nDesign and evolve secure, highly available AWS environments, including customer connectivity and hybrid-cloud integrations.\nBuild reusable Terraform modules and maintain clean, reviewed, version-controlled infrastructure code with controlled change and minimal drift.\nDesign, improve, and operate Jenkins delivery pipelines and their GitLab integrations, including pipeline-as-code and Groovy-based automation.\nDeploy and operate containerized services on Amazon EKS using Docker, Helm, and YAML-based configuration.\nAutomate Linux and platform configuration with Ansible, including the installation and lifecycle of services such as GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, and OpenGrok.\nOperate GitOps-based EIS Suite deployments across development, pre-production, and production environments through Argo CD, using GitLab as the configuration source and cloud-hosted Helm and container registries as artifact sources.\nImplement and troubleshoot AWS networking, DNS, load balancing, identity, permissions, and secure access using least-privilege principles.\nBuild actionable monitoring, logging, dashboards, and alerts; lead diagnosis of complex incidents across cloud, platform, pipeline, and application-delivery layers.\nEmbed security and quality controls into automation, including privileged access, secrets handling, code quality, and DevSecOps practices.\nImprove engineering standards, create clear operational guidance, review technical solutions, and mentor less experienced engineers.\nUse AI-assisted engineering tools thoughtfully to improve automation, code quality, documentation, troubleshooting, and delivery workflows, with appropriate security, review, and human oversight.\nHelp evolve the internal developer platform as a shared cross-department capability: gather feedback from engineering and delivery teams, contribute reusable self-service patterns and platform improvements, and share ownership of adoption and outcomes across departments.\n\nSkills, Knowledge & Expertise\n\nWe look for depth in AWS cloud and platform engineering, supported by strong hands-on capability across the adjacent delivery lifecycle. Equal mastery of every tool is not required; what matters is the ability to own, deploy, and troubleshoot EIS Suite environments end to end and to deepen adjacent skills.\nCore dept\n5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or a closely related role.\nDeep practical knowledge of AWS architecture and services, including EKS, IAM, VPC, Security Groups, Route 53, load balancers, EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, and ElastiCache.\nStrong production experience with Terraform, including module design, state management, code review, and safe infrastructure change.\nDeep hands-on experience designing, building, troubleshooting, and maintaining Jenkins pipelines, including pipeline-as-code and Groovy automation.\nStrong hands-on knowledge of GitLab as a source-control platform, including repository configuration, access controls, merge-request workflows and code reviews, and integration with Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines.\nSolid Linux administration and networking knowledge, including routing, DNS, firewalls, VPN/IPsec, and connectivity troubleshooting.\nStrong adjacent capability\nHands-on experience with Argo CD and GitOps-based deployment of EIS Suite applications across Kubernetes environments.\nStrong Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm skills, including deployment configuration, troubleshooting, scaling, and high-availability considerations.\nPractical experience with Ansible for repeatable software installation and configuration management.\nStrong Git skills and the ability to automate with Bash and/or Python.\nWorking knowledge of Java application build and delivery ecosystems, including tools such as Maven, and familiarity with artifact repositories.\nA systems-thinking approach to production troubleshooting, with the ability to follow a problem across multiple technical layers and drive it to resolution.\nClear communication, sound technical judgment, and experience collaborating across teams; mentoring or technical leadership experience is expected at senior level.\nBroader awareness and useful experience (nice to have)\nExperience with AWS CloudFormation or AWS CLI in addition to Terraform.\nExperience with Azure or IBM Cloud and an interest in applying common engineering standards across cloud platforms.\nExperience with Grafana, Grafana Loki, Prometheus, ELK, or comparable observability platforms.\nExperience with Datadog for infrastructure and application monitoring, dashboards, alerting, and troubleshooting including configuration of Datadog Application Performance Monitoring (APM) configuration.\nExperience with CyberArk or another privileged access management platform.\nExperience with SonarQube, Nexus, OpenGrok, or similar engineering enablement tools.\nKnowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, microservices, and event-driven architectures.\nRelevant AWS, Kubernetes, security, or infrastructure-as-code certifications.\n\nAbout EIS\nEIS Group is the technology innovator for insurance.\n\nEIS is an insurance software company that enables leading insurers to innovate and operate like a tech company: fast, simple, agile.
