Project Manager
About The RoleWe are adding a Project Manager to our team building the Wilroy Reducing Station project in Suffolk, VA. This major project for the Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD) will help prevent pollution and provide relief for the regional sewer system during major weather events. This role is responsible for managing project performance, coordinating with field teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will work closely with Superintendents and Project Engineers to plan work, manage costs, and drive overall project success. This position reports to the Senior VP of Construction.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field7+ years of experience in construction project managementStrong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and cost controlExperience managing teams and leading projects from start to finishPreferred QualificationsExperience with water or wastewater treatment plant constructionBackground working with a self-perform general contractorExperience managing complex mechanical or heavy civil projectsFamiliarity with estimating, preconstruction, and project turnover processesResponsibilitiesManage overall project performance including schedule, budget, and client relationships Lead project planning, including budgeting, scheduling, and construction approach Work with Superintendents to coordinate field operations and major work activities Oversee subcontractor performance and project execution Manage pay applications, cash flow, and project financials Support and lead Project Engineers and co-ops Coordinate with preconstruction and estimating teams during project startup Identify and resolve project issues related to scope, cost, or scheduleSkillsStrong leadership and ability to manage project teamsSolid understanding of construction operations and project flowAbility to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple prioritiesClear communication with field teams, clients, and internal staffProblem-solving mindset with ability to make decisions and keep projects movingAbout CompanyAmerican Contracting & Environmental Services (ACE) is a self-perform general contractor specializing in complex mechanical construction at water and wastewater treatment facilities.
