For more information, visit www.hmhco.comAs a Delivery Lead, you will drive end-to-end project execution across multiple Agile teams, enabling the delivery of high-impact, complex solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring alignment, removing obstacles, and maintaining a clear path to value delivery. You are a seasoned leader who understands both the technical and business landscapes and can bridge the gap between strategy and execution.You’ll work across cross-functional teams, supporting not just Agile practices but also full lifecycle project delivery—from planning and tracking to stakeholder management and release execution. Experience in handling AI or machine learning-based projects is a plus.What You’ll DoLead two or more Agile teams in delivering complex, end-to-end technology solutionsCollaborate across product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with goals and prioritiesProvide delivery leadership across the entire project lifecycle—from initial planning, backlog grooming, and sprint execution, to release planning and post-delivery retrospectivesFoster a high-performance environment through mentoring, coaching, and supporting team growth and innovationIdentify and resolve cross-team dependencies and risks early, keeping delivery on trackUse data and delivery metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown, throughput) to drive transparency and predictabilityEffectively communicate project status, blockers, and progress to stakeholders at all levelsChampion a “Quality First” approach and promote continuous improvement within and across teamsHandle shifting business priorities and navigate conflicting demands with calm, focused leadershipEncourage creative problem-solving and challenge short-term thinking in favor of long-term valueBring structure and direction to highly complex and ambiguous problem spacesCultivate a delivery culture of accountability, ownership, and measurable outcomesContribute to broader organizational improvements by identifying process and structure enhancements across teams(Nice to have): Experience delivering AI/ML projects or working closely with data science/AI teamsSkills & Experience5-8 years of experience leading software development and product delivery teamsProven success managing end-to-end delivery of complex technical projects—not just as a Scrum Master or Agile coach, but with full ownership over planning, tracking, and stakeholder engagementExperience working with multiple cross-functional Agile teams in a scaled environmentStrong command of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)Experience in navigating business priorities and influencing stakeholders to achieve project goalsExcellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skillsAbility to build trust, support team dynamics, and encourage high performanceKnowledge of the education technology (K–12) sector and user needs of educators, students, and administrators (preferred)High attention to detail and a bias for actionComfortable making tough decisions and asking for support when neededEducationBachelor’s degree in education, business, or technical disciplineAgile Scrum Master CertificationThe Information Technology organization is transforming to realize our mission: Become a leader in HMH’s digital transformation, and as a strategic partner, innovate and deliver highest value, competitive advantage solutions across all corporate and business functions.
