If you thrive in a dynamic, growth-minded environment where your contribution directly matters and you’ll work alongside skilled professionals focused on achieving business-driven legal solutions, Mayer is where you can make an impact.ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients involved in various commercial transportation accidents, workplace injuries, breach of contract, premises liability, etcProvide comprehensive legal counsel and defense strategies to individuals, businesses, and insurance companies operating primarily in commercial trucking transportation as well as other industriesConduct thorough investigations into accidents, analyze evidence, asses liability, and develop defense strategies tailored to each case's unique circumstancesRepresent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedingsConduct legal research and provide legal analysis on various issues related to transportation and personal injury lawDraft pleadings, motions, and discovery requestsPrepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trialsCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnelParticipate in case strategy discussions and negotiationsManage case files and maintain accurate and organized records Work with expert witnesses on casesConduct site/scene inspections Experience Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the State Bar of New MexicoThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate litigation/insurance defenseStrong research and writing skillsExcellent oral communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational and time management skillsComfortable handling a case load of 20-30 cases Experience managing cases from intake to settlement/trialBenefitsCompetitive quarterly bonus plan based on monthly billables - ability to earn an additional $52k annuallyFull suite of health/dental/vision benefits that go into effect the 1st of the month after an employee starts with the firm10 company holidays + 4 early release days Hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office, 2 days/week at home)401k + firm match based on previous year revenue.
