Job Description Position: Manual Machinist – OD Cylindrical Grinding & Manual Lathe Experience RequiredLocation: Greater Chicago AreaPay: $23 - $28 + per hour depending on experienceWe are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist with a strong background operating manual lathes, OD cylindrical grinders, and manual mills in a precision manufacturing environment.This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work, tight tolerances, and producing high-quality machined components with minimal supervision.Primary Responsibilities:• Operate manual lathes, OD cylindrical grinders, and manual mills• Perform precision machining and grinding on metal components• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements• Hold tight tolerances and maintain quality standards• Set up machines, select tooling, and inspect finished parts• Work with a variety of materials in a production and/or job shop environmentPreferred Experience:• Strong OD cylindrical grinding experience• Experience operating engine lathes and manual milling equipment• Ability to perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges• Blueprint reading and shop math skills• Tool room, prototype, or precision machining background is a plusRelated Backgrounds May Include:• Cylindrical Grinder Operator• Lathe Operator• Manual Lathe Machinist• Precision Machinist• Tool Room Machinist• Conventional MachinistWe are looking for dependable machinists who are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced working in a precision manufacturing or machine shop environment.
