Model Engineering Intern","description":"Position Summary:\n\nSupport New Model activities by assisting with manufacturing equipment and process planning, production capacity analysis, material/part flow, process layouts, improvement activities, and assigned projects while collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Leadership.\n\nDescription of Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Leadership to analyze and understand existing equipment and process production volume limitations.\nSupport the introduction of new models or model changes by reviewing proposals for new product models, identifying manufacturing equipment and process change points, and collaborating with the direct supervisor to determine manufacturing equipment and process plans.\nCollect necessary information to identify and recommend safety, quality, and productivity improvement ideas for manufacturing equipment and processes.\nDevelop and optimize material/part flow diagrams to visualize process and department conveyance with Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing Leadership.\nUse CAD to develop process layouts utilizing provided specific constraints and objectives.\nExecute assigned projects utilizing provided schedules, budgeting, and key performance indicators.\nWork with teams to mistake-proof methods and processes.\n\nRequirements:\n\nMinimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):\n\nAssociate or bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or actively working toward an applicable degree.\n0-3 years of hands-on experience preferred.\nComputer skills, including the ability to prepare thorough, concise reports and justifications.\nExperience with technical problem solving.\nSelf-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nKnowledge of time study/standards, ratings, MOST, MODAPTS, ergonomic evaluations, and understanding of capital budgets.\nAbility to read and comprehend detailed drawings, sketches, notes, and blueprints.\nBasic understanding of manufacturing methods.\nExperience using CAB to develop process layouts utilizing provided constraints and objectives.\n\nSkills and Abilities:\n\nAbility to promote and carry out the “Astemo” and “5 Joys”\nAbility to work and communicate professionally with all levels of the organization.\nTechnical problem-solving and analytical skills.\nStrong work ethic, intrinsic motivation, and ability to organize work and multi-task.\nAbility to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and measurement methods.\nFlexibility to effectively adapt to changing conditions and job assignments.\nAbility to work well with others.\nWillingness and ability to effectively work hands-on\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\n\nWill not supervise associates\n\nSoftware:\n\nComputer
