We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to join the team at our corporate headquarters in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. We take pride in delivering quality projects, building strong relationships, and fostering a collaborative team culture.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review sales/use tax returns Research and interpret state and local tax laws and regulationsManage state sales and use tax audits and respond to noticesSupport tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities across jurisdictionsMaintain compliance calendars and filing deadlinesCollaborate with internal teams on tax-related issuesStay current on changes in state sales and use tax laws and SALT developments Vendor W-9 verificationManage income and franchise tax payments provided by external accounting firm Summary Of QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA or CPA-eligible preferred5+ years of experience in state and local tax Strong understanding of multistate taxation principlesExperience with tax software (e.g. Avalara, Sage) preferredProficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred SkillsExperience in public accounting or corporate tax departmentKnowledge of sales & use tax and indirect tax complianceFamiliarity with tax research tools (e.g. Avalara) What We OfferHorizon offers a collaborative work environment with a strong focus on team culture and professional growth.
