The Senior Developer will demonstrate leadership in mentoring and assisting all on the team, and will actively participate in all disciplines required in a full-stack environment. The Senior Developer will participate in defining Stifel’s best practices and ensure they are used in all development projects and procedures.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nWork with Development team in various phases of development, including design, implementation, integration, revision control, release and the maintenance of multiple products and systems.\nPerforms advanced discovery and research into technical problems and maps out improvements for web applications.\nLead the development of procedures, using test-driven development, which can be utilized within continuous integration practices.\nFollow Stifel’s coding and development standards and lead community-driven efforts to update them.\nFacilitate in the growth of other developers through code review and one-on-one interaction.\nDocument clearly and effectively within code as well as outside of code.\nCoordinate with other team members when tackling developmental efforts.\nAbility to demonstrate proactive architecture-driven approach to problem resolution, strong troubleshooting in a crisis and problem-solving skills.\nWorking with a team making decisions about how development environments will be used to their fullest collaboration potential.\nAbility to create and maintain processes and procedures to improve implementation of the software development life cycle (SDLC).\nUses negotiation skills and techniques to obtain agreement between different interests, challenges management constructively, bringing different views into the open.\nTransforms mockups and wireframes into usable front-end functionality through developing, testing, and revising web application code.\nCreates components based on user interface/user experience norms, including optimal accessibility, navigation, and cross-browser performance.\nQualifications\nFamiliarity with AWS/Cloud Technologies a strong plus\nUnderstanding of event-driven microservices architecture residing within the AWS cloud, including experience deploying applications within this type of environment.\nExpertise with AWS services and implementation practices.\nExperience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform for provisioning of public and private clouds.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD tooling for broad scope orchestration, including platforms such as GitLab, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.\nExperience in serverless and container-based technologies within AWS such as Lambda, Fargate, and ECS\nExperience working in a financial services or broker / dealer environment preferred but not required\nContinue to stay on top of the latest technologies and see how they can be applied to Stifel’s needs throughout the organization.\nOral and Written Expression – Proven ability to communicate information and ideas in spoken or written form so that others will understand.\nJudgment and Decision Making — Ability to deal with ambiguity and rapid change.\nTime Management – Highly self-motivated and delivery focused.\nDisplays awareness of the impact of actions on the business and demonstrates understanding of the context of the company and acts in line with it.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent experience required\n6+ years' of progressive experience in software development\nPast education or interest in mathematics or financial modeling preferred but not required\nSystems & Technology\nHigh-level proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript\nHigh-level proficiency with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular.\nPrevious experience with server side languages such as C#.\nPrevious experience with database technology such as SQL Server, MySQL or Oracle.\nPrevious experience with Git (or other version control systems)\nExperience implementing testing platforms and unit tests\nActual salaries may vary, and may be based on several factors, including but not limited to each candidate’s qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position.
