Select appropriate piping materials, diameters, and thicknesses to meet design requirements. Size and specify relief devices, control valves, and regulators.\n\nPossess knowledge of midstream process controls and instrumentation, including controls narratives and cause & effect matrices.\n\nPossess ability to interpret and design Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), plot plans, piping plans, and piping isometrics.\n\nDevelop process simulations and material & energy balances using ProMax software for cryogenic gas plants including dehydration and amine systems to support process optimization efforts.\n\nPossess knowledge of midstream gas gathering and processing operations, including cryogenic gas plants, compression, glycol and dehydration, amine treating, hydrocarbon recovery, and condensate stabilization.\n\nPossess knowledge of codes, standards, regulations and best practices applicable to the midstream industry (API, ASME B31.3/4/8 and VIII, DOT 192/5, NFPA, NACE, etc.).\n\nCommunicate effectively with internal and external team members (safety, environmental, operations, construction, commercial, land/ROW, 3rd party contractors, etc.).\n\nComplete projects through the entire lifecycle: feasibility studies and front‑end loading cost estimates; generate AFE’s; perform detailed engineering and design; scope, bid, and manage construction and commissioning contractors; as‑built drawings; participation in pre‑startup safety reviews.\n\nProactively seek opportunities to learn and develop and to find solutions for maximizing value to the business unit.\n\nContinuously review assets to enhance safety, mechanical reliability, operational flexibility, and capacity.\n\nAssure all Targa design and construction standards are satisfied.\n\nAssure local, state, federal and Targa safety & environmental regulations and policies are satisfied.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nMINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS\n\nBS degree in Chemical Engineering from a 4‑year accredited university.\n\nMinimum 3–5 years of experience as a project engineer and/or process engineer in natural gas plant processing, construction, and/or operations.\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).\n\nAbility to interface effectively with all levels within the company and with external organizations.\n\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\n\nAbility and willingness to travel at least 25% of the time.\n\nRegular and reliable attendance.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\n5–10 years of experience in natural gas plant processing, construction and/or operations.\n\nExperience with acid gas handling and process equipment.\n\nProcess simulation and pipeline modeling experience with ProMax.\n\nExperience with rotating equipment.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Project.\n\n5+ years of experience in project engineering, process engineering and/or project management.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT\n\nAbility to work in changing climate conditions and a plant environment.\n\nAble to work in close quarters (work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing).\n\nFollow and adhere to all applicable PPE guidelines (eye protection, footwear, hard hat, FRC).\n\nThe employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.\n\nEQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY\nTarga Resources provides equal employment opportunities based on merit, experience, and other work‑related criteria and without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sex, age, pregnancy, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
