Job Title: Real Estate CounselLocation: Houston Area (Onsite)Salary: $175K-$190K base +20%-30% bonusSkills: Commercial Real Estate Transactions, Lease Negotiation, High-Volume Deal Flow, Contract Drafting, RetailAbout Company / Opportunity:We are a well-established organization with a national retail footprint. This role sits on a collaborative in-house legal team supporting a high-volume portfolio of retail locations across the U.S. The position offers significant exposure to complex leasing and transactional matters, along with the opportunity to partner closely with real estate, construction, and executive stakeholders.Responsibilities:Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of retail real estate documentsSupport acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactionsPartner cross-functionally with real estate, construction, finance, and operations teamsProvide legal guidance on leasing and transactional mattersAssist in developing and maintaining leasing templates, standards, and playbooksConduct real estate due diligenceCoordinate with outside counsel as neededMust-Have Skills:J.D. and active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Texas preferred or ability to waive in)5+ years of commercial real estate legal experienceExperience managing high-volume transactionsExperience drafting and negotiating complex lease agreementsNice to Have Skills:Retail leasing experienceFamiliarity with lease management systemsExposure to construction-related legal mattersExperience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
