Successful Forward Deployed Engineers demonstrate competency in integrating advanced technologies into existing business processes, building new functionality, ensuring successful software development, analysis, or deployments, and working closely with customers. This role requires a combination of technical skills, strong communication, and the ability to quickly turn ideas into production caliber code. This role will work and engage directly with customers on-site, in a hybrid format, or remotely, as required by each customer including the potential for occasional short-term travel to customer locations across the United States.\n\nThis is a hybrid (onsite/remote) role. This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nDesign, implement, and maintain analytical models within our M&S capability called RAPTR.\n\nPerform testing and validation of models and code to ensure accurate outputs.\n\nPerform operations research analyses with RAPTR to answer client questions and recommend efficient courses of action.\n\nParticipate in client meetings to understand requirements and to brief your technical findings and analyses.\n\nCollaborate with other RAPTR software engineers, modelers, and analysts to optimize performance for large-scale simulations.\n\nImplement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure system reliability and availability.\n\nTroubleshoot issues across cloud infrastructure, networks, and simulation workloads.\n\nStay current with advances in cloud technologies and recommend improvements to enhance RAPTR capabilities.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ORSA, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).\n\n5+ years in performing complex data analytics such as building AI/ML models, or physics-based models.\n\nPrevious experience with modeling and simulation (M&S) tools.\n\nExperience with briefing and engaging with DoD customers.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.\n\nAbility to obtain a Secret clearance.
