Senior Project Manager
Mid-level experience handling medium sized projects, managing strong stakeholder input, handling pushback and driving alignment on scope, timelines, and deliveryHands on experience with enterprise system upgrades, preferably SAPSome working knowledge of SAP, specifically SAP FICO, high level understanding of SAP Security and ability to partner effectively with SAP technical and business teamsFinance acumen specifically in Investments, general ledger, accounts payable modules, with experience collaborating with Finance partners on enterprise initiativesProven ability to communicate clearly, manage risks, and deliver projects on scheduleJob DescriptionGENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:The Project Manager I oversees the planning, implementation and tracking of specific projects;defining the beginning, end and specified deliverables.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Defines the scope of the project in collaboration with management.Researches and acquires working knowledge of subject matter.Creates a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed tosuccessfully complete the project.Determines the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.Develops a schedule and detailed timeline for project completion that effectively allocatesthe resources to the activities.Reviews the project schedule with management and all other staff that will be affected bythe project activities; revises the schedule as required.Determines the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at itscompletion. Executes the project according to the project plan.Develop forms and records to document project activities.Sets up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.Monitors the progress of the project and adjusts as necessary to ensure the successfulcompletion of the project.Establishes a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff inthe organization on the progress of the project.Reviews the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis toensure that it meets the project standards.Ensures that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level ofquality.Evaluates the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholdersand ensuring technical feasibility.Selects, negotiates with and manages activities of external consultants or vendors.Communicates with Quality Assurance, business users and development teams on projectrequests.Handles basic issues and problems; refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.Performs other related work as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Direct Reports: 0General Description of Indirect Reports (2 and 3-downs): 0EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field of study; plus aminimum of two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination ofeducation and/or experience.Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software andhardware solutions, systems, or products.Insurance industry experience a plus.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:PMP certification is a plus.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively presentinformation to clients and respond to questions from groups.Strong customer service orientation.Excellent interpersonal skills.Analytical skills with ability to think critically.Strong problem-solving skills with ability to define problems, collect data, establishfacts, and draw valid conclusions.Mathematical skills with strong attention to detail.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professionaljournals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with employees, customers, and otheroutside third parties.Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced workenvironment.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Vizio, MicrosoftProject and Outlook.Minimal to no travel is required in this position.
