Interview includes hands-on welding test.\n\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nReporting to the Fabrication Team Leader, this position will be performing various structural welds and fitting for all of our unitized systems (can lines).\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nConsistently weld structural and carbon steel in 3G, 4G, and 2F fillet weld using FCAW, GMAW, and GMAW-spray.\nOperate safety equipment and use safe work habits including, but not limited to: forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.\nAdvanced knowledge of lay out, positioning, aligning, and securing parts and assemblies prior to assembly.\nExamine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.\nRecognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.\nClamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.\nConsistently pass non-destructive (x-ray, etc.) examinations of FCAW welds on required products.\nRegular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.\nConduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.\n\nOTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nProvide personal tools according to the department tool list.\nPerform set-up, material handling duties, and minor general maintenance.\nResponsible for area housekeeping.\nParticipate in the processes of continuous improvement including efforts to meet company smart goals.\nPromote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nWork is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures. Potential exposure to jobsites both domestically and internationally; living accommodations in some foreign assignments may not meet expected U.S. standards.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required.
