{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"a85cba174e2bbab6157386c6","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/a85cba174e2bbab6157386c6","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/a85cba174e2bbab6157386c6","title":"ESTIMATING APPLICATION ENGINEER","description":"Description\nW-Industries is immediately seeking an Estimating Application Engineer with 4+ years of estimating experience, preferably in the electrical equipment manufacturing market to join our electrical manufacturing team located in NW HOUSTON. the ideal candidate will have 4+ years’ experience in engineering solutions and/or developing estimates for the oil & gas, data center, critical power, and utility markets.\n\nRequirements\n\nReview industrial/commercial building and electrical plans to determine the electrical needs of proposed projects.\n\nEvaluates bid documents to determine overall scope of project.\n\nDetermines all documentation required for bid submittal; determines who should review or contribute information necessary to complete bid.\n\nReviews plans and specifications to identify types and grades of materials, what quotes to solicit, and what resources will be required to complete bid in compliance with project requirements and bid deadlines.\n\nCreate Bill of materials as per the customer specifications and requirement.\n\nMay attend pre-bid meetings or job interviews as required.\n\nContacts vendors and reviews plans and specifications to obtain vendor quotes.\n\nReviews quoted bill of material for accuracy.\n\nRequired Skills & Competencies\n\nKnowledge of tools and principles involved in production of estimates, electrical plans, blueprints and drawings.\n\nExperience with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum's, specifications and change orders.\n\nThorough knowledge of the electrical field with familiarity in materials and construction methods.\n\nKnowledgeable of the N.E.C, local codes, and UL certifications.\n\nKnowledge of estimating principles and techniques.\n\nKnowledge of suppliers and supplier databases applicable to project specifications.\n\nMinimum Experience Required\n\nElectrical engineering and/or estimating for manufactured products is a must.\n\nExperienced with AutoCAD is a must.\n\n4+ years minimum experience estimating projects for the Oil & Gas, datacenter, or critical power industries is preferable.\n\nPlease be able to showcase pass wins.\n\nManufacturing experience is desired\n\nPreferred Education & Certifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical engineering, or similar studies.\n\nFamiliar with Eaton, ABB, AB, Siemens & GE industrial products.\n\nProficiency with electrical products designs and circuits.\n\nUnderstanding Power systems application.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\n\nOffered Benefits\n\n401(k)\n\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\n\nBasic Life, AD&D, Short and Long term Disability insurance\n\nVoluntary benefits\n\nFSA and HSA\n\nPTO\n\nEEOC Statement\nW-Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
