Together, we advance your career.\nResponsibilities:\nTHE ROLE:\nAMD's Embedded Business Unit is seeking a System Level Test (SLT) Product Development Engineer to join our growing Product and Test Engineering team. In this role, you will develop and drive production-ready SLT solutions for next-generation embedded processors powering automotive, robotics, industrial, networking, storage, aerospace, and defense applications.\nYou will play a critical role in bringing new products from concept to high-volume manufacturing, partnering with Product Engineering, Diagnostics, BIOS, Software, Quality, Reliability, and Manufacturing teams worldwide. Your work will directly influence product quality, yield, test coverage, and cost, while helping AMD deliver industry-leading technology to market.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge processor technologies, solve complex system-level challenges, and make a measurable impact across the product lifecycle.\n\nTHE PERSON:\nYou are a highly motivated engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems across hardware, software, firmware, and manufacturing environments. You are passionate about product quality, continuous improvement, and delivering innovative test solutions that scale globally.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop, validate, and optimize System Level Test (SLT) solutions for AMD embedded processors.\nDrive test coverage, quality, yield, cost, and test time improvements throughout the product lifecycle.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define SLT strategy, test content, diagnostics, and characterization requirements.\nLead pre-silicon and post-silicon test bring-up activities, including test flow integration, hardware checkout, and production readiness.\nPerform silicon characterization across process, voltage, and temperature conditions.\nDebug product and test infrastructure issues spanning hardware, software, diagnostics, and platform components.\nInvestigate yield and quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.\nSupport production releases, test program correlation, and manufacturing ramp activities.\nPartner with OSATs and global manufacturing teams to deploy and sustain production test solutions.\nLeverage test data and analytics to improve product quality, diagnostic effectiveness, and upstream test coverage.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, quality, and operational efficiency.\nMentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on critical projects.\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\nStrong expertise in System Level Test (SLT), system validation, or x86-based platform architectures.\nExperience developing and debugging SLT test programs, test flows, diagnostics, and characterization plans in an NPI environment.\nKnowledge of silicon characterization, yield analysis, and failure diagnosis methodologies.\nExperience with platform bring-up, hardware validation, and system-level debugging.\nFamiliarity with IC test methodologies and ASIC product development.\nWorking knowledge of BIOS, firmware, operating system kernels, and device drivers.\nExperience using Linux, Unix, and Windows environments.\nProgramming or scripting experience in languages such as Python, C/C++, Java, Perl, or Ruby.\nFamiliarity with Git or other version control systems.\nExperience working with manufacturing partners and OSATs is a plus.\nRMA debug experience is a plus.\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\n#LI-LC2\n#LI-Hybrid\n#LI-HYBRID\nQualifications:\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\n\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
