To train all colleagues and officers on all aspects of security and safety with full responsibility of Emergency Response Plans.Administration:Supervise and Coach the Security Team to achieve exceptional levels of guest service and colleague satisfaction results, through the application of all corporate and property standards and policies.Contribute to improvement and development of the Security and Safety Department with written recommendations submitted to the Director or Security and Safety.Ensure communication is provided throughout the hotel and department as needed.Ensure Confidentiality in the DepartmentConsistent development, support, promotion and enforcement of hotel policy relating to colleague and guest safety and security and loss prevention programs.Emergency, medical equipment, tools inventory and orderingColleague EngagementAssist in the interview process, when needed.Train, coach, counsel and recognize Security and Safety Officers to maintain order throughout the Hotel.Maintain all Policies and Procedures and Local Standard Operating ProceduresContribute to the ongoing improvement and development of the Security and Safety DepartmentComplete security reports as neededReview reports on a daily basis to ensure all relevant information is communicated throughout the hotel, i.e. guest/colleague accidents, incidents, emergencies, threats, theft, etc.Knowledgeable in the use of all security equipment, i.e. radios, cameras, printers, computers and electronic lock systemsMaintain scheduling, vacation days, lieu days and sick day listsAssign duties and schedule staff, balancing needs of hotel and productivity standards.Monitor security staff activity and coach subordinate performance as needed, including discipline.Monitor all suspicious activity on or about the hotel property and communicate to Director of Security and SafetyMaintain scheduling, vacation days, lieu days and sick day listsLiaisons with all departments on Security matters, i.e. group resumes, parking requirements, etc.Maintains and updates, Lockers, Parking Logs, requisitions, and other recordsControl all security and safety shifts professionally and responsiblyConduct performance evaluations of all Security and Safety officersSecurity:Upholds the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times.Investigate and follow up on any reports made by guest or colleagues.Supervise the day to day operations for all guest needs including both group and leisure. All colleague activities, vendors, public.Provide security assistance to all colleagues and guest.Maintain and control all key card access and locksManage guest lost and foundUnderstand and execute Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Plan appropriatelyUnderstand and execute Fire/ Evacuation Response Plan including practical firefighting.Monitor all suspicious activity on or about the hotel property and handle accordingly.Safety:Responsible for upholding all security and safety procedures and policiesEnsure we protect all assets of the Hotel, including colleagues and guest.Present Security and Safety presentation at Colleague orientationsEnsure Compliance with OSHA and HIOSH Standards and prevention measuresMonitor all safety violations and communicate accordingly.Conduct walk through of hotel propertyPromote safe work practicesLiaise with Government authorities and be familiar with all regulationsQualifications Your experience and skills include:2 years minimum in Security Management5 years minimum in Facility/Workplace securityDiploma/ Certification in Security programs or Law Enforcement etc.Fire safety certificationFirst aid certificationAble to adapt to a multi-national environmentOccupational Health and Safety certification highly regardedMust have basic math skillsMust be a team player and work in a fast paced environmentMust be detailed oriented and have proven organizational skillsMust have intermediate skills computer skills.Must have ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.The ability to interpret a variety of instructions in either written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Thorough knowledge of Federal/Provincial/State/Municipal/County codes covering health & safety, fire, building, Innkeepers Act and Hospitality LawThorough knowledge of all operational aspects of a hotel security department and experience in handling administrative and managerial mattersFire safety and First Aid certificationStrong leadership and communication skillsAnalytical skills, strength as a developer and a leader of others are essentialAbility to train others and lead training course for all colleaguesInternational experience an assetMeet the minimum Security license requirements in local environmentFairmont leaders highly regarded (flexibility on the above)Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to)Will frequently be required to use a computer, telephone, copier, fax and radioWill frequently need to be able to stand, walk, sit use hands and fingers, talk or hear, and twist upper bodyWill occasionally need to climb or balance, stoop or kneel, and squatWill frequently need to be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
