This role is responsible for setting up and conducting tests, collecting and documenting data, maintaining laboratory equipment and test fixtures, and supporting engineering teams in the evaluation of products and systems. The Test Engineering Technician works closely with Test Engineering, Quality, and cross-functional teams to ensure testing activities are performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with established procedures and quality requirements.Please note this is an onsite position at our Irvine, CA. office.Duties & Responsibilities:Perform verification, validation, characterization, and reliability testing on products, prototypes, and componentsSet up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and test fixturesExecute approved test protocols, work instructions, and standard operating proceduresCollect, record, and maintain accurate test data and documentation in accordance with established quality system requirementsAssist engineers with test setup, fixture preparation, sample management, and data collection activitiesCompile test results and prepare data summaries for engineering reviewCoordinate testing activities with internal teams and external testing laboratories as requiredMaintain laboratory organization, equipment readiness, calibration status, and inventory of test materialsIdentify and communicate equipment, process, or testing issues that may impact project timelines or resultsSupport continuous improvement efforts related to laboratory operations, testing processes, and documentation practicesAdhere to all applicable quality, regulatory, and safety requirementsPerform other duties and special projects as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory testing, product testing, electronics testing, manufacturing support, or a related technical fieldExperience using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data acquisition systemsAdvanced electronic troubleshooting, wiring, and soldering skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and WordStrong organizational and documentation skillsAbility to read and interpret schematic drawingsAbility to read and follow technical procedures, specifications, and work instructionsEffective verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Biomedical Technology, or a related field preferredExperience in the medical device industryFamiliarity with FDA-regulated or ISO 13485 environmentsExperience supporting verification and validation testing activitiesExperience working with laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance processesEducation:* High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Biomedical Technology, or a related field preferred.Language Requirements:Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishAbility to interpret technical documents, and written instructionsAbility to clearly document technical findings and communicate with cross-functional team membersCompensation:The anticipated hourly range for this position is $33/hr - $39/hr plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.Physical requirements/Work Environment:This position primarily works in a laboratory environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.The physical demands of the position described herein are essential functions of the job and employees must be able to successfully perform these tasks for extended periods.
