This position requires 5+ years of experience.\n\nPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:\nFollow Bridge Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager.\nPerform and check structural engineering calculations of bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation infrastructure structures using company, client, and industry standards.\nParticipate in the preparation and checking of structural construction drawings created by teammates to meet firm and client requirements.\nDevelop and check cost estimates.\nParticipate in the preparation of reports and studies.\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:\nLicensed Professional Engineer\nLicensed Structural Engineer in Illinois (preferred)\nExperience with design and detailing of IDOT or Illinois Tollway bridge projects (firm requirement)\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nProficient in MicroStation\nKnowledge of Structural Bridge Design Software\nPrevious bridge inspection experience (preferred)\nAbility to traverse structural sites, including heights and rough terrain\nMust possess a valid driver’s license\nMust complete a background check\nEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\n\nBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering\n\nMaster of Science in Civil Engineering (preferred)\n\nSALARY RANGE:\n\nHorner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000.
