This role combines hands-on Power BI development with strong SQL data analysis and reporting capabilities. The Developer will design and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards, develop semantic data models, write complex SQL queries and scripts, and analyze healthcare data from multiple sources to support operational, clinical, and management decision-making. Reporting to the Manager of Data Analytics and Reporting, this individual will work with internal and external datasets to develop reliable, user-friendly BI solutions that improve visibility into key performance metrics, quality outcomes, and healthcare operations. Join a collaborative team who values AVER’s mission, focus, and culture of delivering exceptional client service with great people and transformative technology solutions that ensure Government mission success.Responsibilities Include:Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations supporting healthcare operations, quality, and performance reportingDevelop and maintain Power BI semantic models, including data relationships, business logic, measures, and reporting structuresTranslate business and reporting requirements into intuitive dashboards, KPIs, reports, and analytical solutionsWrite and optimize complex SQL and Oracle PL/SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, transformation, analysis, validation, and reportingExtract, cleanse, transform, integrate, and validate data from multiple healthcare and operational data sourcesDevelop and execute data mining and analytical queries against relational databases and enterprise data warehouse environmentsCreate and maintain standardized reports while supporting the modernization and rebuilding of legacy reports in Power BIEnhance and troubleshoot existing SQL scripts, Power BI reports, and SSRS reports based on evolving business and end-user requirementsAnalyze healthcare datasets including medical and pharmacy claims, eligibility, authorization, clinical/EHR, pharmacy, and operational dataDevelop KPI and performance dashboards that provide actionable insights to clinical, operational, and management stakeholdersValidate data and reporting outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and data integrityManage file loads, data transfers, and integration of external datasets used for contract and operational reportingFamiliarity with using GitHub or other version control systems for source code management and collaborative development Maintain a strong understanding of data warehouse structures, database design, data definitions, system capabilities, and upstream/downstream reporting dependenciesCollaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective BI solutionsSupport time-sensitive contract deliverables, recurring reporting requirements, and ad hoc analytical requestsExcellent problem-solving, communication, collaboration, forward leaning and forward thinking Assertive and proactive communication to provide status updates, ask questions, and employ an iterative/ consultative approach that informs team, customers and stakeholders Education Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, or a related data-centric fieldExperience Requirements:3–4+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or a related data-focused roleHands-on experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reportsExperience developing and working with Power BI semantic models, data relationships, measures, and reporting logicStrong experience with SQL for data extraction, transformation, analysis, query development, and report creationExperience developing Oracle SQL and/or PL/SQL queries and scriptsExperience working with relational databases and enterprise data warehouse environmentsExperience extracting, cleansing, transforming, validating, and integrating data from multiple sourcesExperience developing KPI dashboards, standardized reports, and data visualizations for business and operational usersExperience troubleshooting and enhancing existing SQL scripts and Power BI reporting solutions.
