They must be working towards their SE or PE license. They will perform calculations, assist with the production of structural drawings in Revit, write evaluations and reports, and participate in job site observations. A Structural Engineer will have the ability to accurately and efficiently design structural steel, concrete, and foundations for ag and industrial projects using hand calculations and a variety of design software. This role profile is subject to change at any time.\n\nPROTECT PEOPLE:\nConsider the safety of Keen Project Solutions construction personnel, the customer, operators, subcontractors, and the general public in project design, per, OSHA, MSHA, IBC, IFC, NFPA, or other applicable regulatory requirements for all scopes of work.\nResearch and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, municipal codes, permits, and standards relying upon proper expertise and resources internally and externally.\nPerform job site observations and report deficiencies, nonconformance, safety issues, quality control issues, and opportunities for improvement to the Sr. Structural Engineer on an assigned project.\nBUILD RELATIONSHIPS:\nContribute to design efforts with all parties involved in the project, including Owners, outside engineers, architects, consultants, contractors, trade contractors, and Project Management staff.\nDemonstrate ability to effectively communicate and contribute to internal and external engineering and design teams.\nParticipate in Owner Design Coordination Meetings with open communication and collaboration with owners, designers, and trade partners to build a team atmosphere, resolve conflicts early, and drive progress. Utilize online collaboration tools and web meetings to coordinate/communicate and conduct business efficiently.\nBuilt positive relationships with internal and external project managers, project engineers, design partners, and customers when collaborating on projects.\nFOCUS ON END GOALS:\nAssist with the structural design portion of projects, make design recommendations and decisions, and oversee the completion and quality of construction drawings, specifications, reports, and other project documentation under the direction of a Sr. Structural Engineer.\nCommunicate effectively to ensure all team members and customers are well informed throughout the design process, including effective use of facetoface meetings, web and phone conferences, collaborative software, design meetings, events, and other common channels of communication.\nBe organized and effectively manage individual’s time and tasks.\nOther responsibilities may include but are not limited: assisting with scope development, site investigation, specification and technical writing, conceptual design, design/engineering management, development of engineering standards, and estimating.\nDRIVE INNOVATION:\nWork closely with internal and external project partners, engineers, and other professionals to develop project technical parameters and scope.\nIntegrate new technology or environmentally friendly practices into existing processes.\nConsider safety, manufacturability, constructability, potential failures, customer usage, functionality, and efficiency during the design process.\nAssist with Analyzing problems through data analysis, field engineering, experimentation, and dialog with the crossfunctional team, to create more robust designs, reduce callbacks for warranty service, and drive continuous improvement.\nEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:\nWorking towards a Bachelor of Science degree in architectural engineering or civil engineering with a Structural Engineering emphasis.\nBe willing to work towards their Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) License.\nPossess good oral and written communication skills, and comfortable presenting design solutions to Owners.\nHave completed courses on structural analysis and structural steel design. Courses on structural reinforced concrete design or foundation design are a plus.\nExperience using Revit, 3D software (Navisworks/Recap), Risa structural engineering design software, and Microsoft Office software is beneficial.\nTravel up to 25% or as needed, by air and ground.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nExerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly\nContinuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.\nFrequently requires standing, fine dexterity, sitting, and handling; typical of office work.\nMust be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.\nMust be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels.\nMust be able to respond quickly to sounds.\nMust be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.\nMust be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.\nMust be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.\nMust be able to work in cold/hot environments and on concrete floors.\nOccasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching.\nContinuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.\nMust be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.\nMust be able to stand for extended durations.\n\nVisa sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.\n\nKeen Project Solutions is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion.
