The role focuses on accuracy and speed to ensure that quality and professional service is always delivered to all internal and external interfaces.\n\nEssential Job Functions:\n\nAdhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and PPE requirements.\n\nResponsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).\n\nSet and maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency for all administrative tasks within the Quality Department.\n\nProvide comprehensive administrative support to the QA team, enabling the achievement of departmental objectives.\n\nOversee and manage the procurement and inventory of laboratory supplies, including reagents, water treatment chemicals, and microbiological materials.\n\nEnsure timely and accurate processing of invoices related to lab supplies.\n\nResponsible for supporting and maintaining compliance with third-party food safety and quality certification requirements, including the implementation and continual improvement of the facility’s food safety and quality management systems.\n\nResponsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the SQF System and ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety and quality requirements.\n\nIssue and process Purchase Orders (POs) for the Quality Department in a timely and accurate manner.\n\nMaintain the document control system for the SQF program, including SOPs, policies, internal audits, and corrective actions.\n\nMonitor and facilitate the completion of corrective actions, ensuring timely resolution.\n\nAssist with plant audits to ensure GMP and SOP compliance, providing actionable summary reports for leadership.\n\nFacilitate Management Review meetings, ensuring the SQF program undergoes annual review and updates by leadership.\n\nOrganize and coordinate Food Safety/HACCP reviews annually and prior to process changes.\n\nCommunicate Quality performance data and update specifications for co-pack produced products.\n\nVerify Quality Control and Assurance data daily to ensure consistency and compliance.\n\nManage Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for ingredients and reagents, including organic certifications.\n\nCompile and maintain Quality KPIs, contributing to the Plant Dashboard and data reporting.\n\nAssist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the facility's SQF and quality SOPs.\n\nUphold and ensure adherence to the Food Safety and Food Quality policies and procedures across the facility.\n\nOversee the receipt and delivery processes for alcohol, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards. (Alcohol producing sites only.\n\nRequired Skills:\n\nExperience in Food/ Beverage Manufacturing preferred.\n\nProficient in Excel, Word, SAP and Power Point.\n\nAbility to analyze and solve problems, results oriented.\n\nOrganized and detail oriented, adaptable to change.\n\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.\n\nCompetencies:\n\nTechnical: Skilled in maintaining accurate and detailed records of inspections and tests\n\nIntegrity: Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in all quality assurance activities.\n\nAdaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing production environments and requirements.\n\nCommunication: Clear and concise communication with production staff and management\n\nEducation and Experience:\n\nBachelor’s degree or Diploma in Food Science, Quality or related discipline\n\nMinimum 3 years of experience in Quality within a manufacturing environment, preferably food/beverage industry\n\nComprehensive knowledge of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF) – certification required.\n\nIn plants co-packaging alcoholic beverages, sensory tasting must be at least 21 years old.\n\nWorking Conditions:\n\nWork Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.\n\nWork Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold (laboratory is temperature controlled).
