Field Diagnostics and Repair Specialist — Diesel/Gas Engines
Power your career with DEUTZ — a global leader in diesel, gas, and electric drive systems for equipment that keeps the world moving.Your impactDiagnose complex issues on DEUTZ engines and non‑DEUTZ construction equipment at customer sites.Plan the repair sequence and pre‑stage parts/materials for efficient first‑call completion.Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs to OEM specifications.Verify functional and cosmetic quality before returning equipment to service.Maintain accurate work orders and time sheets; route updates through the DEUTZ Service Department ticket system.Partner with the Service Supervisor, Parts Department, engineering/warranty, new engine sales, and customers to resolve issues quickly.Keep truck inventory optimized; meet DOT requirements and uphold a clean, safe work environment.Return unused parts per DEUTZ Power Center guidelines; assist with warranty claims and invoicing.Represent DEUTZ professionally; follow all travel and company credit card policies.What you bringHands‑on experience with NG/CNG systems and Tier 3–4 emissions (preferred).Ability to build expert‑level knowledge of DEUTZ diesel engines.Self‑starter who thrives with minimal supervision and clear priorities.Meets all requirements to operate a company service vehicle.Clear, respectful communication in person and by phone.Confidence with computers and portable diagnostic tools.Personal toolset; DEUTZ‑specific tools supplied.Minimum requirementsHigh School Diploma or GED.Must be able to maintain DOT medical card status.Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.4+ years as a shop technician or 2+ years in field service.Preferred2+ years with diesel engines.2–5 years repairing construction equipment.Software familiarity: Serdia, Serpic, Fieldaware, Microsoft Word, Excel.Certification/training in heavy equipment and diesel engine repair.Travel and scheduleAnticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 100% depending on business needs within the region.Work settingManufacturing assembly and warehouse environments. Subject to noise, dust, diesel fuel, oil, and extreme hot/cold temperatures.
