Director, Private Credit Fund AccountingCompensation: $375-400k {base + bonus + strong retirement contribution (immediate vesting)]Client: Large-scale private markets platform within a globally recognized asset manager.Overview:• Hybrid- 3 days onsite in Manhattan• Exposure to the credit / deal side of the business!• Supports: new fund launches, acquisitions, strategic initiativesResponsibilities:Fund Accounting & Financial ReportingOversee all accounting functions including quarterly close packages, NAV calculations, income and expense allocations, distribution waterfalls, and fund-level return calculationsReview and analyze distribution waterfalls in accordance with fund legal documents, ensuring accuracy of carried interest, preferred return, and catch-up calculationsReview partnership and fund IRRs and other performance metrics on a quarterly basis and prepare ad hoc calculationsAssist with internal management reporting covering AUM, revenues, expenses, and fund economics for senior leadership and internal stakeholdersFund Operations & Liquidity ManagementOversee credit facility management, including covenant monitoring, borrowing base calculations, and lender reportingManage investor capital call and distribution processes, including timing, notices, and reconciliationStrategic Business PartnershipServe as a strategic finance partner to Portfolio Management teams on overall business development and management, including:New fund and separately managed account (SMA) structuring, allocation mechanisms, and fee calculationsInvestment structuring to minimize cash and tax drag (e.g., ECI, FIRPTA, blocker entity utilization)Responding to investor due diligence requestsRegulatory, Compliance & Tax CoordinationCoordinate with the parent company's Compliance team to satisfy all regulatory reporting requirements, including Form PF, Form ADV, AIFMD, and other applicable filingsCoordinate across internal functions — including Tax, Legal, Compliance, and Valuation — as well as external counterparties such as fund administrators, auditors, and counsel, to ensure timely and accurate fund operationsGovernance, Controls & Process ImprovementLead process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance the scalability and efficiency of fund accounting and reporting workflowsOversee third-party service providers including fund administrators, auditors, and outsourced tax professionals — managing deliverables, SLAs, and quality standardsSupport due diligence processes for new fund launches, acquisitions, and strategic initiativesQualifications:10+ years of relevant work experience, including Big 4 public accounting background, with a foundation in financial services, asset management, or alternative investments audit practiceCPA preferredBroad experience across alternative investment strategies and asset classes, including but not limited to private credit, direct lending, structured credit, private equity, hedge funds, and/or multi-strategy fund structures
