Qualified candidates must possess ability to perform tasks related to Emergency Haz Mat situations and will be required to use a variety of specialized equipment under supervision.\nJob\n\nResponsibilities\n\nWork with the Environmental Emergency Response Teams, Transportation, Fixed Facility and Site Remediation Projects\nEnsure work is completed according to measurements, specifications, drawings, plans, or other materials/instructions\nEnsure health and safety procedures are strictly followed, including, but not limited to, safe lifting, personal protective equipment, and chemical labeling\nProactively communicate issues and problems that may or are affecting completion of the job to the responsible Project Manager.\nLearn and understand MSDS protocols for chemicals used during mitigation processes\nPerform Daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and maintain in clean serviceable condition\nMust maintain attention to detail\nComply with prescribed safety procedures or federal laws regulating waste disposal methods.\nDecontaminate equipment or sites to remove hazardous or toxic substances.\nPrepare hazardous waste for processing or disposal.\nUse of proper lifting techniques, use of slide pads, use of Styrofoam blocks, care and protection of customer personal belongings\nWill be required to meet BELFOR Standards in safeguarding other people's property\nMust have a comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices\nWork under time constraints to meet specific timelines\nWill be required to work nights and weekends as requested as travel periodically\nReport time worked and equipment and consumables used timely and accurately\nAttend BELFOR sponsored operations and safety training courses as required\n\nRequirements:\n\nRespond in a timely manner to emergency spills and environmental cleanup situations\nInteract with emergency services including but not limited to first, local and state police, EMS and regulatory agencies.\nTrain employees as required on job techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use.\nConduct a fit test the first day of the week and on the first day of a new job for all employees who are required to wear respirators.\nRecord mileage as required and download time records every evening.\nDocument all work completed on the job each day along with the materials/equipment used on the job on a Daily Job Report.* Additional other duties as required\n\nQualifications\n\nMust be able to identify Product (consumables), usage and disposal requirements with training\nMust have current Hazardous Waste Certification\nEligible to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR's vehicle policy\nPossess sense of urgency, professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic\nEnglish language literacy and fluency\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nFrequent lifting in excess of 50 lbs\nOccasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)\nAccess and mobility in tight spaces\nSustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling\nAbility to use mobile devices for collection of data and time.\n\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n\nDisclaimer\nThe statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees, and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.\n\nAdditional Details : BELFOR offers competitive pay and a wide range of benefit options including, but not limited to, 401(k) with match, medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, paid holidays, and paid time off.
