EFS enables rapid packaging, deployment, and execution of distributed applications at scale across global data centers.\nThe primary focus of this role is the migration of a legacy, Perl-based distributed application deployed on virtual hosts to a modern Python-based, microservices architecture. This includes designing and implementing API-driven services and enabling scalable, containerized deployments.\nThis role will partner with cloud services engineering, operations teams, and subject matter experts to deliver modern distributed solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.\nKey responsibilities include developing high-quality software that meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements; implementing well-defined APIs; writing unit and integration tests; and ensuring solutions integrate cleanly into the broader platform with robust, well-tested interfaces.\nThe candidate will be expected to follow enterprise development standards and adhere to all security policies from development through deployment.\nPrimary Skill\nPython\n\nSecondary Skill\nLinux\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nStrong Python expertise with demonstrated experience building production systems\nExperience designing and developing RESTful APIs using the OpenAPI 3.0 specification\nExperience developing large-scale, back-end applications and microservices\nAbility to understand, develop, and maintain complex distributed systems\nExperience with Agile development processes and tools, such as Jira, Confluence, Git, and Bitbucket\nExperience with CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins and Ansible\nExperience with Git-based source control and modern development workflows\nExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills\nExperience developing across multiple architectural layers (data, application, business)\nExperience creating technical documentation and training materials\nStrong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences\nAbility to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams. Experience with agentic software development tools; GitHub Copilot experience preferred\nDesired Qualifications\n\nExperience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift\nExperience contributing to or operating containerized microservices environments\nFamiliarity with NFS and distributed file system concepts\nExperience with Perl (especially for legacy system migration)\nExperience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments\nExperience with NetApp Network Attached Storage devices\nExperience analyzing and reporting on operational data with Oracle SQL and Splunk\nExperience developing automation using Ansible\nAbout Matlen Silver\n\nExperience Matters.
