Exhibit Attendant
Job OverviewThis position performs a variety of labor and customer service functions in various sub-departments within the Arts, Agriculture and Education Department.Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:• Assist in the set-up, maintenance, and tear down of exhibits.• Perform manual labor involved in the installation of exhibits and interactives.• Clean and maintain exhibits, which may include using tools and equipment.• Assist with family activities.• Interact with guests to provide accurate information and assistance to ensure guests have an enjoyable experience.• Keep abreast of information to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses in person or on the phone.• Practice good physical work methods, utilize good work habits, and meet established production standards.• Wear proper personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, googles) and maintain a safe work environment.• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested when needed.• Engage with fair guests in a friendly and welcoming manner. Answer questions and provide information about the exhibit.• Assists in promoting our fair values by creating quality guest experiences for both internal and external customers.• Promotes the District's F.A.I.R. values by creating a quality guest experience for both internal and external customers.Qualifications• Excellent customer service and ability to work cooperatively with team members and others.• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Working Conditions• Work is indoors and outdoors.• Outdoor work may involve exposure to weather conditions.• Exposure to dust, dirt, unpleasant odors, and animals.• Move objects up to 30 pounds. Push/pull heavy objects.• Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
