We are looking for an experienced project engineer for our Coconut Creek and/or West Palm Beach office who is ready to take the next step in their career through advanced training, leadership opportunities, and hands‑on experience both in the field and the office.\n\nAs a project engineer, you will leverage your engineering and design expertise to support the Coconut Creek and/or West Palm Beach team within our established solid waste practice, delivering engineering services to private and municipal clients in the landfill, landfill gas, compost, and solid waste management sectors. You will tackle projects that require innovative solutions for stormwater management, industrial wastewater treatment, air quality improvement, landfill gas systems, environmental compliance, permitting, design, construction, operations, and environmental monitoring.\n\nHow You Can Make An Impact\n\nLandfill and landfill gas system permitting and design, including construction plans, specifications and construction documents.\n\nApply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in solid waste assignment areas and related fields.\n\nManage projects and personnel to meet both client and SCS expectations.\n\nMake decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plan and coordinate work, and represent us at meetings and conferences.\n\nField work in varied terrain and weather required, including surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, sample collection, drilling oversight, etc.\n\nOffice‑based tasks include CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc.\n\nBusiness development including proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry related conferences/trade shows.\n\nReceive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.\n\nComplete quality control reviews on all work products (reports, design plans, data, etc.) prior to submission.\n\nPrepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents as requested.\n\nReview laboratory data and prepare compliance monitoring reports.\n\nTravel (day trips or overnight, 20% of travel expected).\n\nEnsure adherence to client and company policies in all activities including health and safety, security, and ethics.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering, or related major required.\n\nMinimum of 5 years of relevant civil or environmental experience required.
