divh2Speech Language Pathologist (Part-Time)/h2pThe Speech Language Pathologist shall be responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language, and hearing disorders helping students to adjust and access the general education curriculum. Career Academy offers a low case load, a supportive collaborative team environment, and a flexible schedule that can be either full time or operate on a contractor status./ph3Qualifications/h3ulliMasters Degree and valid Indiana state teaching license in Communication Disorders or ability to obtain appropriate state licensure./li/ulh3Primary Responsibilities/h3ulliDiagnoses and evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors./liliPlans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore the communicative efficiency of students with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology./liliProvides counseling guidance and language development therapy to disabled students./liliReviews students file to obtain background information before evaluation to determine appropriate tests and to ensure that adequate information is available./liliAdministers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests./liliDevelops and implements individualized plans for assigned students to meet individual needs, interests, and abilities./liliBased upon the individual education plans, provides speech, language and communication therapy in a variety of settings./liliEvaluates and monitors students./liliReviews treatment plan, and assesses individual performance to modify, change, or write new programs./liliAttends meetings and conferences and participates in other activities to promote professional growth./liliInstructs individuals to monitor their speech and provides ways to practice new skills./li/ulh3School Activities/h3ulliMay be required to attend and/or participate in such other activities as directed by the Administrator such as faculty meetings (before or after school hours), open houses, commencement exercises, chaperoning student activities, guiding students, participating on faculty committees, studying, and helping resolve school problems./li/ulh3Essential Skills and Abilities/h3ulliAbility to use technology for documentation and preparation of professional materials/liliAbility to communicate assessment results, in written and oral forms, to parents and professionals/liliAbility to develop, implement, and evaluate behavior plans for use in general and special education settings/liliAbility to prioritize tasks, allocate time, and maintain schedule flexibility/liliNon-Negotiable aspects of the teaching profession, including WORK HOURS COMMITMENTS, POLICIES PROCEDURES, ATTENDANCE, and EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS./li/ul/div
