The Project/Drafting Engineer (Cabinet Vision®) will also work as a drafting engineer as the need arises; and takes direction from the Project Manager.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES (duties include but are not limited to the following)\nCreates or produces submittal drawings in Cabinet Vision software for a variety of millwork and casework used in the commercial industry\nOrders material and maintains library of current standard cabinets\nWorks with Production Manager to coordinate work and translate drawings into production flow and alter plans as necessary (to include programming of CNC)\nTakes direction from Project Managers on timing and coordination of shop drawings for production and installation\nSupplies cut lists, shop, and production drawings\nCommunicates with Estimators on job requirements and customer needs\nReviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications\nDocuments specifications and finish schedules for cabinetry projects\nEvaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases\nResponsible for material usage and forecasting\nStores technical drawings electronically\nWorks with project team to establish goals and ensure all shop drawings for assigned projects are completed according to set deadlines\nFollows all safety and OSHA standards and ensures a safe working environment\nAttends departmental meetings as required\nPerforms other duties as assigned or required\nREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nAt least 2 years of Cabinet Vision® and Auto- CAD (Preferred, but will train)\nProficient in Cabinet Vision® for engineering and lay out (Preferred)\nProficient in AutoCAD to draft shop drawings for millwork and complex parts\nCOMPETENCIES\nThe items below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required or preferred.\nAbility to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check\nSelf-motivated, detail-oriented and works well under pressure and tight deadlines\nSolid understanding of materials, hardware, and wood working construction methods\nWillingness to learn and adapt to changes in fast-paced environment\nGreat attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work as part of a team with little oversight and direction\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS/SAFETY REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS\nThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
