This role is part of a collaborative software development team responsible for delivering reliable, scalable solutions that support long-standing operational systems.\nThe ideal candidate will have experience developing and maintaining enterprise Java applications, working within an Agile team environment, and contributing across the full software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.\nThis position involves working within a mature, long-running application environment while also supporting ongoing modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.\nDevelopers spend the majority of their time designing, coding, testing, debugging, and supporting software solutions, with additional responsibilities for documentation, collaboration, and continuous learning.\nNOTE: This position requires access to technologies and hardware subject to U.S. export control requirements. Company sponsorship is not available for this position.\nResponsibilities\nCollaborate with software developers, engineers, and stakeholders to implement and support software solutions\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications\nContribute throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle\nWrite clean, maintainable, efficient, and testable code\nTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues\nCreate and maintain technical documentation for software design, implementation, and testing\nEnsure software solutions comply with established coding, quality, security, and performance standards\nParticipate in code reviews, testing activities, and release processes\nDevelop and maintain automated unit tests and system-level test scripts to validate application functionality and support release activities\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design documentation, test plans, test results, and other formal project deliverables\nSupport and enhance existing legacy applications while contributing to modernization efforts\nParticipate in Agile/Scrum team activities including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives\nContinuously improve technical knowledge and development practices\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field with 3+ years of recent software development experience or equivalent work experience.\n\nTechnical Experience\nExperience with:\nJava enterprise application development\nObject-oriented programming principles and software design practices\nExperience developing applications against Oracle databases, including SQL and PL/SQL\nSource control systems such as Git or SVN\nEnterprise development environments and IDEs\nSoftware testing and debugging techniques\nWorking in collaborative Agile development environments\nExperience with Maven or other Java build automation tools\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with one or more of the following is preferred:\nTest-driven development (TDD), continuous integration, refactoring, and pair programming\nUnit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, JaCoCo, JMockit, or EasyMock\nJava application servers and enterprise deployment environments\nLegacy enterprise application support and modernization efforts\nC#/.NET development experience\nASP.NET, MVC, or Entity Framework experience\nExperience working in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated technical industries\nAbility to quickly learn complex engineering concepts and effectively communicate with technical stakeholders and client engineering teams\nExperienced in SDLC documentation technical writing\nAdditional Requirements\nMust be willing and able to pass a background investigation and drug screening\nMust successfully complete required legal/compliance screening processes\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work effectively both independently and within a team environment\nWork Environment\nThis role supports long-standing enterprise systems that are critical to customer operations and engineering activities.
