About the Opportunity:The Software Asset Management Specialist supports the full lifecycle management of software assets to ensure accurate inventory, licensing compliance, and coordination between technical and business teams. This fully remote role contributes to optimizing software usage and spend, maintaining compliance, and improving asset management processes. The position impacts the organization by enabling efficient software asset tracking and fostering collaboration across departments.3. Responsibilities:• Maintain and update software asset inventory, including entitlements, deployments, renewals, and usage data• Support software license compliance activities, including internal reviews and vendor audits• Track renewals, subscription terms, and maintenance agreements to ensure timely action• Analyze usage data to identify optimization opportunities and reduce unnecessary spend• Assist with configuration, data quality, and reporting within SAM tools• Collaborate with IT Operations, Procurement, Security, and Finance to validate installations and align software usage with policies• Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to review software needs, usage trends, and compliance status• Prepare reports and dashboards using Excel and Office 365 tools• Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement of SAM workflows4. Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (1.5 years of additional experience can substitute for 1 year of degree)• Minimum 3 years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management, procurement, or related IT operations• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust ClearancePreferred:• CCSAM certification (Certified Software Asset Manager)• Experience with Jira for workflow tracking and project coordination• Experience with BigFix or similar software discovery and endpoint management tools• Familiarity with SAM platforms such as ServiceNow SAM, Flexera, Snow, or comparable tools• Understanding of licensing models for major vendors (Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, VMware)• Proficiency in Office 365, especially Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)• Ability to work independently in a remote environment• Strong communication skills and ability to facilitate cross-functional meetings• Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail5.
