We are committed to helping students grow as artists, thinkers, and individuals through meaningful, hands-on experiences.Position OverviewICON is seeking a Part-Time Admissions Counselor to lead and manage the student recruitment and enrollment process. This role is ideal for someone with prior admissions experience who thrives in a relationship-driven environment and is passionate about guiding families through an alternative education model.The Admissions Counselor will play a key role in shaping the prospective student journey, from first inquiry through enrollment, while ensuring a seamless, organized, and welcoming experience for all families.Key ResponsibilitiesAdmissions & Enrollment ManagementOversee the full admissions cycle: inquiry, tour, application, interview, acceptance, and enrollmentMaintain and manage admissions pipeline, tracking prospective students and follow-upsCommunicate consistently with prospective families via email, phone, and in-person meetingsLead campus tours, open houses, and admissions eventsIdentify key prospective markets, establishing and cultivating referral networksFamily ExperienceServe as the primary point of contact for prospective students and familiesClearly communicate ICON’s mission, programs, and value propositionGuide families through decision-making and enrollment stepsEnsure a high-touch, personalized admissions experienceOperations & OrganizationDevelop and refine admissions processes, systems, and timelinesManage application materials and student recordsCollaborate with marketing on outreach campaigns and messagingTrack and report on admissions metrics and enrollment goalsStrategic Growth SupportManage recruitment initiatives and community outreach effortsIdentify and execute on opportunities to improve conversion rates and enrollment experienceProvide expertise and feedback to leadership on trends, challenges, and opportunitiesQualifications3+ years of experience in school admissions, enrollment management, or a related fieldStrong organizational and project management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to build trust and connect with students and familiesExperience with CRM systems or admissions software preferredSelf-starter who can work independently and collaborativelyPreferred AttributesPassion for arts education and alternative learning modelsHighly relational, approachable, and detail-orientedComfortable working in a small, dynamic team environmentAbility to balance structure with flexibilitySchedule & CompensationPart-time (hours flexible based on admissions cycle needs)Compensation commensurate with experienceBase pay plus commission payFinancial incentives for incremental enrollment growth to be negotiated with the offer How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit a resume and brief cover letter outlining their admissions experience and interest in ICON - leslie.nolte@iowaconservatory.org.
