Powered by people, we bring over 45 years of expertise, quality, and integrity to every project, ensuring timeliness, responsiveness, and a focus on client success.Primary ResponsibilitiesOversees and make decisions related to project safety, health, and environmental policiesObserves and stops work when circumstances are related to an immediate danger to life, property, and environment on all projectsWork with Safety Director to recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and proceduresProvide leadership on active projects and build working relationships with all project staffFunction as site EHS Professional for all active projects and serve as a resource for all EHS related questions, concerns, and areas of improvementDevelop partnerships with Subcontractor Safety Reps to ensure complianceConduct EHS audits, issue report of violations and require immediate corrective action by subcontractorsInvestigate and resolve issues on behalf of Pogue Construction and communicate with project staff and subcontractors in connection with resolving field EHS issuesCoordinate Safety Committee meetings: plan and deliver training programs for managers and employees on relevant accident preventionEnforce work practices and conditions in accordance with Local, State, and Federal regulations, as well as owner/contractual requirementsEducate and advise project staff on EHS guidelines and policiesOrder sign package for each new projectEnsure projects are properly equipped with fire extinguishers, First Aid Kits, and AEDsWorks closely with third party Environmental Consultant to ensure compliance on all projectsResponsible for OSHA Injury and Illness Recordkeeping FormsConduct scheduled and impromptu training and safety meetingsManage regulatory exposures to zero citationsOther duties as assignedRequired Skills & ExpectationsDemonstrated knowledge of EHS principles and techniquesDemonstrated ability to identify known potential exposures and drive implementation of corrective actionsComputer skills and experience with MS Office suite programsProven management, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and train otherInternal and external customer serviceExperience & EducationTen (10) years of safety experience or combination of education/multiple years’ experience in commercial building constructionA bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health or equivalent is preferredCandidate RequirementsMinimum Certifications: OSHA 30, current First Aid, CPR, AED
