At the end of the day, the Software Engineering Manager is responsible for delivering high quality products that are on time and on budget while continuously building a diverse, adaptable, and skilled team.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nManage and lead 1 or more Software Engineering teams\nParticipate in recruiting and hiring of new team members\nResponsible for coordinating new hire orientations and ongoing staff training\nOversees timekeeping procedures and provides payroll approval\nDevelops and implement performance metrics, improvement plans, and employee development plans\nSets expectations and holds employees accountable for their work\nImplements annual performance evaluations and frequent one-on-one check-ins with employees\nResponsible for implementing appropriate disciplinary action, including up to termination\n\nGeneral Responsibilities:\nGrow high performing and high potential employees to succeed in their careers\nBuild relationships with engineering team members, including Project Managers, Quality Analysts, Quality Engineers, UX Engineers, Architects, and Engineers.\nBalance software quality improvements with new product investments while instilling best practices, ensure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules\nSolve technical and procedural challenges in a high-paced Agile environment\nLeverage technical knowledge to solve problems, communicate with team members, review pull requests, and provide feedback on quality and direction.\nComplete administrative duties for the team\nPerform other related duties as assigned\n\nRequired Skills and Abilities:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software\nExcellent organization skills and attention to detail\nA demonstrated history of critical thinking, problem solving, planning, and execution\nSolid software engineering background including design patterns, architecture, relational databases, and test driven development\nAbility to work independently\n\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or the equivalent amount of directly related work experience\n3+ years of experience leading engineering teams using React.js, .Net, C#, SQL\nWhen making decisions, has experience considering the entirety of the business and the experience of the users, not just the code\nExcellent engineering skills and can act as an arbitrator for tough technical debates\nHave a strong sense of ownership and the ability to inspire such passion in others\nSecurity conscious and seek to educate others on the importance of outstanding security\nHave an advanced understanding of web and/or mobile app engineering best practices\nExperience in Scrum agile development environments and are excited to lead an agile team\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods sitting at desk and working on a computer\nMust be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times\n\nThe pay range for this role is: $112,000 - $176,000\n\nTempWorks Software offers a comprehensive benefits package and provides eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in various benefit programs, subject to applicable waiting periods.
