This role offers the opportunity to partner directly with the President and leadership team to shape financial strategy, improve operational performance, and prepare the company for long-term growth.\r\nPosition OverviewThe Controller is responsible for leading the Company's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance functions to support Kyntronics' continued growth in industrial and defense markets. Reporting directly to the President, the Controller will provide accurate and timely financial information, strengthen financial processes and be a close business partner with the senior leadership team.\r\nThe ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on leadership experience in a manufacturing environment and is comfortable working in a dynamic, growth-oriented organization.\r\nKey ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management and Reporting\r\nLead all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, cost and inventory accounting, and cash management.\r\nPrepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and KPIs in accordance with U.S. GAAP to support executive decision-making.\r\nMonitors financial performance against plan, including providing variance analysis to the management team and participates with implementing corrective actions.\r\nDevelop, maintain and ensure compliance and financial accountability with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.\r\nManage the payroll process; prepare bi-weekly payroll and records payroll, tax and insurance GL entries.\r\nInterface with the Kyntronics Board of Directors including reporting and regular meetings.\r\nLead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.\r\nPrepare cash flow forecasts and working capital analyses.\r\nOversee banking activity, AP and AR processing and bank statements.\r\nManage insurances for proper coverage and cost-effectiveness.\r\nSupport ROI analysis on new product development and other projects.\r\nManufacturing Finance\r\nMaintain accurate project/product costing and inventory valuation systems, support quoting activity as required.\r\nActively works with Purchasing and Operations to reduce SLOB inventory and invest in higher-turnover inventory to support growth and customer service.\r\nAnalyze manufacturing costs, labor utilization, overhead absorption, and product margins to improve profitability\r\nQualificationsEducation\r\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.\r\nCPA certification is strongly preferred.\r\nMBA or CMA a plus.\r\nExperience7 - 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.\r\nMinimum of 3 years in an Assistant Controller or Senior Accounting role.\r\nExperience within manufacturing or industrial companies required.\r\nExposure supporting government contracts and defense-related business is a plus.\r\nTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.\r\nManufacturing cost accounting expertise.\r\nBudgeting, financial planning and reporting experience.\r\nERP system experience (e.g., E2, Epicor, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).\r\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, AI tools, Office 365.\r\nDesired CompetenciesHigh ethical standards and integrity.\r\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\r\nExcellent organization and project management skills, energetic, hard-working.\r\nDetail-oriented, committed to accuracy.\r\nAssertive and a strong negotiator with effective written and verbal communication skills.\r\nAbility to build collaborative relationships across engineering, operations, sales, and executive leadership.\r\nPromotes continuous process improvement through automation and best practices.\r\nPerformance Success MeasuresSupport growth initiatives while instilling financial discipline.\r\nDevelop scalable financial processes that support the Company's strategic growth objectives and funding requirements.\r\nImprove the monthly financial close cycle and reporting accuracy using strong internal controls and accounting policies.\r\nImprove inventory and manufacturing cost visibility.\r\nTimely, accurate financial reporting, forecasting and cash flow management.\r\nLocationOn-site at Kyntronics Solon headquarters, with occasional travel as required.\r\nCompensationCompetitive salary, annual performance incentive, comprehensive benefits package, vacation/PTO.\r\nWhy KyntronicsKyntronics designs advanced actuation technologies for dynamic industrial, aerospace, defense, and automation applications.
