CS carries out an extensive list of contractual, legal, and regulatory obligations that must be implemented on behalf of the studios, especially with respect to certain requirements of the collective bargaining agreements that apply to a freelance union workforce of more than 50,000 production workers in the greater Los Angeles area. These services include administering seniority rosters, operating safety training and apprenticeship programs, administering a drug and alcohol testing program that applies to commercial drivers working in the motion picture industry, and implementing many other industry-wide services, studies and/or education on behalf of the motion picture production industry.\n\nJOB SUMMARY:\nContract Services seeks a highly skilled Database Developer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our systems through the designing, implementing, and maintaining of database solutions. Our organization’s is moving towards a data-centric approach in decision making. This will require the IT team to build out the services to allow users to easily and quickly access data from disparate sources.\nTo be successful in this role you need to be able to collaborate with team members to create solutions that meet the business goals of the company through optimized processes and implementations. As we are migrating off legacy systems, you will be tasked with understanding how existing databases work and provide your feedback on future implementations.\n\nKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nCollaborate with internal team members to maintain current systems. Assist in troubleshooting efforts as needed.\nDevelop, review, and test SQL code that fulfills functional requirements.\nAssist in the execution of database tasks and contribute to the optimization of tasks where appropriate.\nExtract data from source systems for analysis and clean-up.\nAssist in efforts related to migrating data to the Salesforce platform.\nDevelop BI reports and dashboards, along with supporting data models and pipelines to refresh data.\nWrite and review SQL queries on an ad-hoc reporting basis.\nCreate and schedule automated reports as needed.\nUndertake special assignments and projects as directed by the Manager of Database Administration and Business Intelligence and the Senior Manager, Software Engineering.\n\nTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:\nCore Skills:\nExperience with designing, developing, and deploying database solutions in production and non-production environments.\nExperience with updating database schema (tables, functions, triggers, views, etc.).\nAbility to collaborate with technical and non-technical team members.\nExperience working with SQL IDE’s in a Windows environment.\nExperience with Salesforce development tools (Data Loader, Workbench, Salesforce Inspector, etc.).\nExperience with establishing ETL processes and data pipelines.\nExperience working in an Agile environment.\nAbility to write and review complex SQL queries.\nComfortability working with Microsoft and Atlassian product suite.\nOverall understanding of API’s and data integrations between internal and external systems.\nKnowledge of business intelligence concepts and platforms.\nAbility to learn and adapt to new technologies.\nDocument database designs, processes, and procedures.\nSkill Pluses:\nExperience in cloud infrastructure platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS).\nA creative problem-solver with the ability to turn product requirements into solutions.\nFamiliarity with the TV/Movie production industry.\nPersonality:\nPositive mental attitude, strong work ethic, self-motivated, and highly organized.\nA proactive attitude to platform enhancements.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative team on multiple projects and priorities.\nEngagement:\nActive participant in company culture.\nA desire to teach, learn and grow with the department and company.\nWillingness to understand our business and how we can best serve our clients.\n\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :\nEducation\nBS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\n\nExperience\nRequired 3+ years of professional experience as a SQL Developer or data Engineer.\nRequired 2+ years of professional experience in troubleshooting SQL related task and resolving performance issue.\nLinux, Postgres, and other open-source software knowledge with AWS services is preferred.\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS:\nThis position is remote.\nDISCLAIMER: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
