The Lead Accountant works on highly complex reports and projects using extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices. May directs activities related to maintaining ledger accounts, reviewing and verifying the accuracy of journal entries, vouchers, and accounting classifications for accurate reporting. This work may be performed by associates in the US or offshore. Broad knowledge of accounting systems and recommends changes to currently used systems to expedite problems. Assists in developing and making recommendations on accounting procedures and methods. Directs the daily activities of accounting associates and provides direction and training to less experienced Accounts. Provides feedback to the Manager and/or Director regarding performance reviews as well as hiring and firing decisions within the department.
