Fleet Services Support Specialist
Hunger Strike Force - Virginia Beach, VA Operation Blessing (OB) is seeking a hands-on, organized Fleet Services Support Specialist to coordinate maintenance for all Hunger Strike Force (HSF) vehicles & equipment and OB commercial vehicles & heavy-duty construction equipment (HDE). This professional will ensure commercial equipment adherence to DOT federal guidelines and HDE dependability and readiness at all times. Serving in this position facilitates ministry activities and contributes to OB's Biblical mission to extend a helping hand in Christ's name to meet physical and spiritual needs. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise, motivate, and develop warehouse staff and volunteer teamsExceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally across all organization levelsHighly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing complex logistics and maintaining accurate recordsProficient in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel and working experience in Microsoft Access for data analysis and reportingCoordinate and execute monthly preventive maintenance schedules for HDE to maximize uptime and reliabilityOversee regulatory compliance for HSF commercial vehicles and OB HDE in partnership with equipment compliance support staffProvide on-site corrective maintenance for HDE to ensure operational readiness and rapid issue resolutionEnsure commercial equipment adherence to FMCSA regulations §§392, 393, and 395 and applicable DOT/OSHA standardsMaintain meticulous maintenance records, inspection logs, and service documentation to support audits and complianceCollaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership to schedule maintenance, reduce downtime, and meet project deadlinesParticipate in regular compliance training, classes, and industry seminars to stay current on regulations and best practicesWilling and able to travel at least one week per month and meet the physical demands of the role (standing, walking, bending, lifting; fine motor/manual dexterity), while supporting organizational values and spiritual activitiesDemonstrate life application of Biblical principles and practices in alignment with OB's non-profit Christian mission Required licenses, certifications, education, or experience:Excellent driving record required; CDL 'A' within first 180 days of employmentForklift certification preferred and required within first 90 days of employmentASE Certification preferred, recently expired credentials sufficientCommercial Crane Operator's License preferred and required within first 360 days of employment Operation Blessing (OB) is a non-profit humanitarian organization that provides strategic relief on an ongoing basis through core programs such as hunger relief, medical care, clean water, and disaster relief.
