It is also an ideal place to enjoy the beautiful Pacific Northwest, being just one hour from the Oregon Coast, one hour from the Cascade Mountains, and less than two hours from Portland and the Columbia River Gorge.\n\nJob Summary\nThis position maintains our campus buildings, equipment, and grounds by resolving submitted work orders and special requests for repairs and preventative maintenance.\n\nPosition Duties & Responsibilities\nResponsible to focus on Safety for self and others in all areas of operations.\nResponds to work orders in a timely fashion with a posture of customer service.\nHandles and operates power and hand tools safely.\nUtilizes ladders safely: from 6-foot stepladders to 30-foot extension ladders, within the equipment safe working limits.\nMakes use of campus equipment within safe working limits.\nKeeps records of building and grounds maintenance and repairs with maintenance software.\nWorks individually and as a team member; Willing to assist others in a collaborative manner.\nWorks with internal customers and external vendors in a positive and productive manner.\nWilling to learn and expand skills through online and hands-on Training.\nReliably show up to work on time and be able to work independently without constant supervision.\nWorking Conditions / Special Requirements\nBushnell employees must have a maturing Christian faith and live in compliance with the duties and expectations as detailed in the Employee Handbook.\nThe position requires a strong commitment to multiculturalism and diversity.\nThe position requires working in a non-smoking, drug free environment.\nThe employee must adhere to FERPA guidelines and student confidentiality at all times.\nAll employees of Bushnell are “mandatory reporters” under Oregon law. Must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.\nThe employee must have high personal motivation, with great attention to detail and accuracy.\nThis person must project a positive, vibrant and professional attitude in assisting people.\nThis person must have high ethics of honesty and confidentiality, with a genuine and gracious presence pertaining to the students, faculty, staff and business of the department and the University.\nThis position may require lifting up to 50 lbs, as well as bending, stooping, kneeling.\nThis position description is subject to change at any time.\nExperience & Qualification Requirements\nBasic experience in building maintenance preferred in areas of: dry wall, plaster, painting, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.\nOrganized: Inventory, work, and equipment records.\nThorough: Sees jobs through to completion, including cleaning jobsite as needed.\nExcellent time management and communication skills.\nComputer experience: Basic knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel; Willing to learn new programs as needed.\nWilling to provide input and ideas to resolve issues cost-effectively and efficiently.\nBasic supervisory skills exercising patience with a positive demeanor.\nConscientious and have an eye for detail.\nHigh School diploma.\nValid Oregon driver’s license or be able to obtain one at the time of employment.
