Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Home Health Aide to provide high-quality care to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with daily activities, ensuring their safety and comfort, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care, medical terminology, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. The Certified Home Health Aide will play a vital role in supporting individuals with various health conditions, including dementia, Alzheimer's, developmental disabilities, and those requiring home health or long-term care.
Duties
Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor and observe patient health status, reporting any changes or concerns promptly
Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols
Utilize EMR/EHR systems to document patient care accurately and maintain medical records
Support patients with memory care needs such as dementia and Alzheimer's care
Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and catheter care devices safely
Perform vital signs assessments and record findings accurately
Assist with meal preparation and feeding to ensure proper nutrition
Conduct light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe environment
Follow all HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy
Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care plans
Requirements
Valid certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings
Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and documentation procedures
Experience working with people with disabilities, developmental disabilities, or in home health and dementia care is preferred
Ability to work independently while following healthcare protocols and safety guidelines
CPR certification required; additional certifications such as hospice care or catheter care are a plus
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with diverse patient populations
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate record keeping
Ability to work flexible hours in live-in or hourly employment arrangements

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 – 10.0 per week
