{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"a6a3a60ea78eb4e29bdb4e94","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/a6a3a60ea78eb4e29bdb4e94","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/a6a3a60ea78eb4e29bdb4e94","title":"Program Director - Tech","description":"Responsible for ensuring high levels of student and faculty satisfaction, ensuring compliance with academic policies and procedures, recruiting, training, retaining, and developing outstanding instructors, and focusing on student retention.\n\nResponsibilities:\nWe are specifically seeking candidates with:\n\nDirect field welding experience in structural, pipe, fabrication, industrial, manufacturing, or commercial welding environments\n\nExperience leading welding teams, apprentices, instructors, or shop operations\n\nExperience in technical training, workforce development, or skilled trades education\n\nStrong operational leadership and coaching abilities\n\nComfort using technology platforms and CRM systems to track performance, communication, and student engagement\n\nPassion for developing future welders and supporting student success\n\nResponsible for correspondence to ensure syllabi goals and phase objectives are reached and to ensure the syllabi, lesson plans, and curriculum are followed\n\nMonitor all handouts, videos, and text curriculum to ensure they are up to date, applied correctly, and followed consistently among all instructors (Standard Curriculum)\n\nHelp coordinate PAC meetings with the Director of Education and the Campus President and assist in implementing any changes that result from these meetings\n\nOrganize with the Admissions Department, outside program in-services, program contests, competitions, and demonstrations to be given at recruiting events\n\nAttend industry-related association meetings and serve as a board member or volunteer in the local chapter, if applicable.\n\nComplete weekly and/or monthly reports as directed\n\nIdentify potential problems and solutions through effective analysis of reports\n\nAttend all mandatory events, including graduation\n\nEnsure faculty utilize Canvas to support hybrid instruction by:\n\nPosting instructor bios and contact information\n\nDelivering weekly motivational announcements\n\nSupporting threaded discussions and timely student responses\n\nUsing Canvas communication tools for student messaging\n\nMaintaining an online gradebook with feedback for assignments\n\nEnsure appropriate academic advising is conducted by instructors:\n\nCompletion of mid-phase advisement for all students\n\nAdvising students at risk or with inconsistent attendance\n\nProviding weekly updates on students under SAP to Student Services/DOE\n\nAdvising students repeating courses and reporting progress\n\nAddressing and documenting any safety concerns\n\nMonitor and manage instructor performance metrics and development:\n\nReview monthly metrics such as attendance, retention, and rephase rates\n\nDocument and discuss results with faculty\n\nFollow progressive discipline protocols\n\nEnsure faculty development plans and training requirements are met annually\n\nLead faculty recruitment, training, and management efforts:\n\nConduct interviews, hiring and onboarding for new faculty\n\nEnsure completion of required training programs (Max Knowledge, Interplay/OcuWeld, NFT101)\n\nTrain and monitor attendance tracking using CourseKey\n\nManage job postings and faculty load assignments within budget\n\nEvaluate and coach existing faculty for growth and compliance/review instructor metrics\n\nComplete timely instructor observations and performance reviews\n\nConduct and manage quarterly End-of-Course faculty surveys:\n\nComplete surveys quarterly or more frequently as needed\n\nReview and discuss results with instructors\n\nEnsure minimum 80% survey completion rate\n\nUpload completed surveys to designated folders\n\nManage student retention and satisfaction through:\n\nAnalyzing drop/re-enter data and identifying trends\n\nCreating strategies to improve retention month-over-month\n\nParticipating in weekly LDA and re-entry meetings\n\nAchieving retention goals and maintaining ACCSC completion standards (Overall 85%; Program 80%)\n\nConsistently attend curriculum meetings and contribute to updating curriculum to align with industry standards and emerging technologies\n\nEnsure all established timelines and deadlines are met across assigned responsibilities\n\nRequired Knowledge, Education and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and minimum two years’ experience in related field. Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten years related experience is strongly preferred.\n\nFor non-degree granting institutions, the individual in this role must have an educational background equal to or exceeding the maximum credential offered by the school.\n\nFor degree-granting institutions, the individual in this role must have an earned degree at least one level higher than the highest degree offered by the school.\n\nPeople Responsibilities:\nDirectly supervises employees in the assigned program Education Department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.\n\nPhysical Environment:\n\nMost work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment\n\nIncumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal\n\nIncumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment\n\nStooping, bending twisting, and reaching may be required\n\nSome work may be completed in classroom or shop environment\n\nOther Duties:\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
